“I have shopped there several times, very happy customer every time I did. The only thing, I'm a beginner in the world of carving and it would be nice if they had more detailed tool descriptions. But otherwise good quality merchandise, speedy delivery, good packaging. Love it all a lot!”

“Thank you for a job well done! Extremely pleased with the book, lots of ideas especially for 12 grandchildren! easy to order online, a good description of items, and fast delivery. I'll certainly be ordering from you again.”

“I ordered a total of 14 No. x 2.4m lengths of 20mm chamfered oak skirting in two deliveries. The product was exceedingly well wrapped with no more than 3 No. lengths per package and excellent foam protection at each end. The delivery service was exemplary. When I open the first package I was somewhat disappointed to find a large knot with hole through the first section, but need not have worried as when cut to length it was of no consequence and the remaining 13 No. were faultless. The machining and factory preparation was excellent so only light hand sanding before the application of Danish Oil was all that was needed. With 60 years of experience in the construction industry, I would thoroughly recommend this supplier and product for both service, product quality and value for money.”

“I am always nervous when ordering sawn oak unseen but have found G&S Timber to be an excellent company to deal with. To date I have received three oak shipments and all were of excellent quality. You can tell this is a family concern by the high standards, knowledge base and pride in what they do, which is not always the case with all timber suppliers. After my past dealings with G&S I would not order from any other supplier.”

“The `basswood` was very hard and heavy, unlike basswood I get from other places. I was unable to use it for whittling and have had to throw it out.”

Good afternoon, Thank you for your review. We are sorry you felt the blanks you purchased were too hard to carve. We import our Lime from Italy and it is ideal for wood carving. We have checked the same size blanks we have here that were cut from the same packs and after testing with sharp carving tools they carved well. If you would like to contact us regarding the order please do so at website@toolsandtimber.co.uk. Kind regards G&S Timber
