“My timber and bits and bobs arrived promptly and well packaged. As I have difficulty travelling long distances now I have to order a lot of my wood online and buying wood over the internet can be a gamble but all the wood I have ordered from G&S has been spot on. Well chuffed. 8x6 Workshop”

“The wood that was ordered was very good and my dad was happy. The order was dispatched and arrived very quickly. A small issue with the online ordering was dealt with quickly and professionally by the staff who readily gave up their time to sort the issue out. Very pleased all round. Thanks”

“Disappointed at the supposed 10% discount sale that was in fact 8% due to sale on pre vat price. No transparency and could be described as misleading at best. One page of web site stated free postage over £45 but it turned out to be £50. Once I pointed out to Matt the sales exec, he disagreed and advised all web pages stated £50. When I re checked after advising him which page showed £45, it then showed £50 so had been promptly changed and then he denied that it ever existed. After several exchanges HE cancelled my order and arranged a refund. A very unsatisfactory experience.”

Good afternoon, Thank you for your review. the 10% discount is offered as a full 10%. The value of your order wouldn't have changed whether the discount was applied off the nett price or gross price. Every product page shows the free delivery marker as £50.00, this hasn't been changed for the last few years and as it is part of the code of the website it isn't A quick or easy to do. You agreed to the cancellation of the order via an email reply, The refund was actioned we felt this was the best thing to do as you weren't happy about the value of the order and having to pay for postage. We are sorry you felt unhappy with your experience. Kind regards G&S

“I ordered Half-Round Beech Moulding from G + S and it was an excellent product. For anyone not aware of the type of product available from suppliers for wood moulding, the quality of product available from the chain DIY stores is dreadful, Not only is it not fully half-round, more like a shallow crescent shape, it's also feeble and often banana shaped instead of straight. The half-round Moulding supplied by G +S, however, is the complete opposite. It's fully half-round, it's sturdy and it's straight, properly machined, a quality product. I needed it for the panels on my arched porch doors. I've put it on one door already and it looks great. I didn't know for sure what was going to arrive, as it was my first order with G +S, despite them being quite clear on their website that it is fully half-round but when it did, I was both relieved and really pleased. The rest of the considerations, ease of order placing, email notification of order progress, speed of delivery, the packaging, were all spot on. I would order again from them and I recommend them to anyone else considering placing an order. Gareth”
