Down To Earth is a multi-disciplined company offering specialist arboricultural contracting and consultancy throughout Kent and South East London.

Established in 1980 by Glenn Morris, and as one of the pioneering companies helping to establish the Arboricultural Association approved contractor scheme, we’ve grown into the largest tree contracting company in Kent securing an impressive array of clients in both the domestic and commercial sectors.

The successful merger with Greencut Horticulture in 2016 resulted in the creation of a large company that not only has the infrastructure to deal with any size job, but the modern back office systems that allow us to focus on a customer-centric model.

“Alex and Sam, who came a few days ago, arrived early as their previous job had been cancelled. They were both very professional, careful, courteous and cheerful people. Several times, Alex checked with us how we wanted things chopped or pruned, explaining the different options available. They left the garden spotless, tidier than it was when they started the job. Sam said she was Ocd: I can well believe it! The equipment looked new and up to the tasks required.”

“I have only given tidiness a poor rating due to the fact that a huge amount of wood chippings were left in the area where the Cyprus tree had been removed. I filled 12 compost size bags myself. I spoke to your operations manager regarding this matter. Had I been less able I would have been left with a problem. It took me a good hour to bag up the surplus chippings. Having bagged up the chippings it became clear that the stump grinding varied in depth from a few mm to a maximum of 150/170mm with side roots untouched above ground level. Clearly the quotation needed to more explicit on what one can expect. I would also recommend that you advise customers nor to locate the shredder and blower too close to ones house and that it is advisable to move ones car well away from the working area. A lot fine chippings get everywhere in the wind and stick to everything in light drizzle. Other than the above comments I was very pleased. David Cowland”

“The team worked efficiently and safely. They prepared the area carefully, protecting outbuildings and walls and cleaned up very well after the work was completed. They carried out a very nice symmetrical job on my mature oak tree, exactly as planned, and left a pleasing result. Overall, professional, personable and good quality work.”

“The team doubled up on the day. There were four 'tree surgeons', so this meant the work was completed in just one day. They worked so hard and speedily. They arrived on time, got on with the job, and genuinely seemed to enjoy their work. It was certainly a pleasure to watch them in action. They tidied up before they left. We are most impressed and will use Down to Earth again. Good job!”

“The crew turned up on time and worked on several trees in windy and showery weather, finishing late in the afternoon on a very nasty Hawthorn. Our garden and neighbour's garden were left in a tidy state. All in all a good job, leaving us with a set of nicely reduced and trimmed trees.”

“Couldn't be happier with the job carried out, which took the team of two, longer than anticipated. Very courteous and understood what was required, also giving best advice on access issues to neighbouring properties. Have no hesitation in recommending.
