Down To Earth is a multi-disciplined company offering specialist arboricultural contracting and consultancy throughout Kent and South East London.

Established in 1980 by Glenn Morris, and as one of the pioneering companies helping to establish the Arboricultural Association approved contractor scheme, we’ve grown into the largest tree contracting company in Kent securing an impressive array of clients in both the domestic and commercial sectors.

The successful merger with Greencut Horticulture in 2016 resulted in the creation of a large company that not only has the infrastructure to deal with any size job, but the modern back office systems that allow us to focus on a customer-centric model.

“Obtained quote for survey and had tree survey work done. Extremely efficient and polite staff. Invoiced as agreed and everything as quoted. Cannot fault.”

“I have used Down to Earth to look after our trees for over 20 years and your staff always do you proud. They are always on time, explain everything clearly and consult where decisions need to be made. They take care to clear up and always ensure that we are happy with the work carried out. I just need to remember to book ahead as you are so busy, with quite a long wait for work to be done!”

“Alex and his team arrived promptly. Alex ensured that he understood the workscope. The work was carried out very efficiently and effectively. I was very happy with the end result. The team cleared up after themselves very well and there was no mess at all. Other than the now well trimmed trees and bushes there was nothing to show they had been. I have no hesitation in recommending Down To Earth, and I believe they represent very good value for money.”

“First time using DTE and extremely pleased. The initial quote and planning permission approval was all completed fuss free. The team on the day were excellent and did a great job. We had a sycamore removed and three other trees crowned, will definitely use them again.”

“Very professional, polite and respectful. They worked well as a team, and their handling of potentially hazardous equipment was very reassuring. Our eucalyptus tree that had dominated our garden was dismantled very efficiently and the logs and chippings were loaded onto the two vans leaving the garden and drive neat and tidy.”

“Reliable. Honest. Efficient. Excellent communicators. Totally professional from the Senior Domestic Estimator who came for the initial visit, to the lovely people in the office to the works team. “Have used Down to Earth trees for years to manage our church site (which includes some very temperamental horse chestnuts!). The office staff are unfailingly helpful, the crews arrive on time, do a great job, leave the area tidy and best of all, people occupying the neighbouring sites always comment how friendly and helpful they are.”

“The two workmen arrived on time and did exactly what was required in a very short time. They were extremely polite and ensured that debris from the stump removed did not spread to the rest of the garden. The office staff were also very helpful and I would certainly use the company again if the need arose.”

“The two members of staff arrived as scheduled, were extremely polite and pleasant and executed a complicated removal of approximately 50% of a Cupressus hedge. The work was outstandingly good and we are delighted with the result. The removed branches, etc were removed and the whole area left in perfect order. I would not hesitate in recommending unreservedly Down to Earth.”

“I've used Down to Earth for many years as I have work carried out on a regular basis. I've always had great customer service from arranging someone to come and quote to those carrying out the work. The work has always been done as I requested with no mess left behind. Everyone has always been very friendly and polite. Very happy with the company.”

“I found this company very professional , When the chap came to survey and quote the work to be carried on a Leyland Cypress and remove a Hazel stump it was obvious he was very experienced and knowledgeable , after a few days the quote I received was what I paid ...no additional costs added after the work. on the day of the work carried out the guys turned up on time and set to work straight away, everything was done correctly in the time quoted to a good professional standard, they were tidy and cleaned up all the debris ,they asked me to examine the work was carried out to my satisfaction before they left. I would certainly use and whole heartedly recommend Down To Earth.”

“This is the second time we have used this company. Last time we were totally amazed and impressed when they were called Green Cut. That time they undertook a massive two poplar tree clearance. We wrote a rave review then. Now they are part of Down to Earth we were equally impressed. Another poplar tree completely cleared with speed, skill, intelligence, politeness and care. The site was completely tidied - including neighbours’ gardens. The price was excellent for the work involved and we would certainly use this company again.”

“Although they were very busy owing to heavy winds They arrived promptly when I had an emergency and made the tree safe. They then came back a few days later to finish the job. I was more than satisfied and will of course use them again. The tree was very unusual and had always been thought to be a quince but Dan and Lawrence did some research and discovered it to be a Nashi Pear.”

“We had become very frustrated trying to find a local and knowledgeable arboriculturist capable of identifying the fungal problem with our apple tree. Down To Earth were the only ones who could help and carried out the necessary remedial action at a very reasonale rate, clearing up all debris and advising us on how to prevent the problem reoccurring. We would most definitely recommend Down To Earth and will be using them again.”
