Established in 1980 by Glenn Morris, and as one of the pioneering companies helping to establish the Arboricultural Association approved contractor scheme, we’ve grown into the largest tree contracting company in Kent securing an impressive array of clients in both the domestic and commercial sectors.

The successful merger with Greencut Horticulture in 2016 resulted in the creation of a large company that not only has the infrastructure to deal with any size job, but the modern back office systems that allow us to focus on a customer-centric model.

“This was the 2nd time I have used Down to Earth in maintaining our Magnolia Tree . I rang last Autumn to enquire and they recommended July as the best time of year and acknowledged the appointment. A few days before the appointment I rang to establish an ETA and they agreed to my preference of first call. The DtE operatives arrived on time, discussed what they intended , carried out the work, liaised with my neighbour , and cleared up , all very efficiently. I would happily recommend Down to Earth to friends”

“I had a patch of bamboo that needed removing and some tree stumps to grind up after receiving some horrific quotes I found Down to Earth who gave a very competitive price and although were very booked up (often a good sign) when the time came for the work to be done the chaps on site were very friendly, worked quickly and did a fabulous job leaving the garden very tidy. I would definitely use them again and would highly recommend this company.”

“The quote for the work was about what I expected. The team doing the work arrived on time, were very pleasant, set about the work straight away and completed it very quickly and efficiently. “I've dealt with Down to Earth on several occasions and have always found the office staff very helpful. On the most recent occasion the guys turned up bang on time and made a wonderful job of trimming my two Acer trees. I would have no hesitation in recommending the company.”

“At the end of May we had a large silver birch tree reduced in height by 2m and average radial spread of the tree by 1m. The lower branches were pruned/removed to give ground clearance of 2 - 3m. The work was done to a high standard and the area was left clean and tidy. We would highly recommend Down to Earth.”

“Pre-assessment was expert, price reasonable, and the two-man team was very proficient and efficient. These were awkward trees; I'd normally do felling myself, but these were entangled or with a difficult lean, and it was well worthwhile having them done by people who know how.”

“A thoroughly expert job by an expert team, reshaping a big, decades-old copper beech, reducing the spread and cover, but leaving the tree with an attractive, completely natural shape. All rubbish was removed, leaving the garden looking as if nothing had been disturbed. Highly recommended.”
