I tried numerous times to access a site via gocompare for my car insurance, a message kept flashing up that it was timing me out, the premium was then increasing every time I re-accessed it. I don’t know if the insurance company Swinton was at fault but it felt like I had been lured by the initial low premium which then wasn’t the case.

well.. I've picked out Tesco car insurance... got a Reference number.. payed for it but NOT received any acknowledgement from them or anything, so, I now don't know whether or not I will be insured as of 9th October... perfect!!!

I got stuck at the end. Said: said my details were not recognised, although I had logged in. Tried to get a new password, I was blocked, because I had tried too many passwords. Had to leave, without insurance, as there wasn't anyway to get help.

Would have been great if the link to my chosen car insurer worked... but it didn’t, so I went with Compare the Market .com and got a baby Oleg in with the deal !

Kind off disappointed, I looked to take forward a quote you was holding for me, within 24hrs of receiving it I went to except, only to find it had gone up 40% since your last email. None to pleased, nevertheless I went to do a further quote which to my delight returned a cheaper option which I took. But I don't feel you should be pursuring customers with inaccurate quotes, albeit accurate at point of quote. So therefore I would imagine you have a collection of unhappy customer.

This is determined by the insurer based on the risk presented to them such as your driving experience, vehicle details, age etc. However, prices are based on real time pricing and subject to change, which means if you return at a later time to purchase the policy, the previous price is not held for you and an updated quotation will be provided. The process of assessing home insurance policies on offer via GoCompare was thorough and straightforward but decisions are made on a wider range of criteria than price. It was disappointing that it was not really possible to access quality of service assessments such as defaqto scores. In the end my decisions were based partly on price and but also on the reputation of suppliers in unrelated fields. Not very satisfactory.

Easy to take out car insurance but not very clear at end of process whether free Excess Insurance was activated by Go Compare at time of sale. I chose a higher excess than I would normally because of Excess cover. No notification to affirm this for 5 to 8 weeks. Last year it came through immediately after purchase of car insurance.

Whereas previously you would have to manually activate the cover, now we will do it for you automatically so please do not worry. We’re activating your free excess cover, so for the time being, you can sit back and relax! Your excess cover runs alongside the car insurance policy you bought with us, so you’ll be covered from the date your car insurance starts.   We’ll email your excess cover policy documents soon. Your policy documents should arrive between five and eight weeks after you bought your car insurance with us. If its been more than nine weeks and you haven’t received them please let us know. The following has been sent to the RAC survey. I have taken my policy with them purely on price but I was NOT impressed with their website for ease or non-ease of use.: I was transferred to your site from GO-COMPARE their advert at the moment says policy excess will be returned after any claim is settled. Yet there is no mention on this either online or on phone with your rep. Your policy document completion on -line broke into error mode at least twice and I had to put my information in again and after the first attempt I forgot about the excess application so I'm NOT happy as I don't know if my now policy includes this or not. Proof of NCD was first that I didn't need to provide this but at the end I was told that I had to. At the start of the online process it states that more policy extras are included than when you reach the end of form. The online form doesn't allow for entering just factory immobiliser without alarm.
