I would have liked to taken out a policy front the Hastings group but time and time again the system failed at the last hurdle, payment for the policy so in the end I dumped GoCompare and went to another group. This was one of the worst experiences I have had in taking out a policy, the particular gripe I have is everything is done by computer and there is no help from an operator on the end of a telephone line.

Cost of phoning them is unnecessarily expensive. I opted to chat to them online but you have to complete a form before you can. Problem is, this form would not let me enter the details that they were asking for. VERY POOR COMMUNICATION or lack of it. I’m not impressed.

Filled in all the forms for the car insurance and then it wouldn’t take the payment. Tried so many times so I have given up. Will find an insurance company that I can speak to.

I thought it had gone well until today. When I received a message from my phone provider informing me I had opted in to paying for a premium sms text reminder for next time my insurance renewal is due. Very unhappy about this. Maybe my stupidity but feel duped and it has cost me, something which I do not want to pay for so do beware if you get a quote and then get message to ask if you would like a reminder.

Your service is fine, but your quote was unjustifiable and quite unacceptable. Churchill and Direct Line offered me a much better deal, so I opted for the later.

The top quote provided was ‘quote me happy’, who unfortunately operate an online response for claims only. I’m therefore unable to obtain clarification on points within their policy quote and these points are not within their FAQ’s. Therefore it’s not a viable quotation and I will be forced to go to an alternative provider and pay more money.

You did ask go compare So I filled out your form and answered all your questions honestly The car I have is a performance model so can be tricky to insure at a reasonable price and it's a return to private car ownership for me after many years of company cars My best quote was from Grove and Dean private clients Hmm sounds fancy !!!! So I review the quote add the extras ....shouldn't insurance come with all these bits anyway ? Click the link to pay Cant take my money you need to call us in office hours So the next day I call'em I explain it wouldn't let me pay The nice young man takes a look Ahh yes have you had a performance car in the last 12 months ? No says I can you define what a performance is please He couldn't He then more than doubled the quote ! In this instance Gocompare and Grove and Dean were a pointless joke very disappointing a wasted my time Thanks for nothing I went on another more honest up front comparison site and purchased a very similar costing policy from Shielas wheels Grove and dean sort your quotes out This is essentially sharp practice pull you in with one unrealistic figure the more than double it My advice would avoid them and gocompare shouldn't let this happen either

The quotes came up fine as normal. I nominated to use 'Privilege' Insurance and from there on everything went wrong and I was unable to pay for the insurance. A very user unfriendly site to navigate, I will have to try another company on the list.
