extremely disappointing that you can provide no reason for 'not being able' to give me a quote 'based on the information I provided'! My guess is that your underwriter feels I am too ancient perhaps to drive, although I have never had/caused any accident . At least you could have the honesty to give me an idea, as in all my years driving I have never been refused coverage.

When we work out the price of our policies, we consider various things, including your vehicle, address, drivers and personal details. The reason we can’t offer cover based on a combination of the above and it is why we can't be more specific. ABSOLUTELY RAGING Just cancelled a multi car policy I just took out, long before it started and within the 14 day cooling off period BUT was still charged a £40 so called Arrangement Fee, £20 per car, WHAT AN ABSOLUTE RIP OFF, WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN, Nothing short of a SCAM 😡

This £20 non-refundable arrangement fee covers our various business costs for insuring an individual car, including customer service, maintaining systems, updating databases and sending documents. Awful company took out a you drive policy, the tab would not link and not record, I have spent hours on the phone going through settings on my phone which you agreed were correct, your call centre is awful no one really knows how to help I’ve even been accused of turning off my Bluetooth. Today you have cancelled the policy with no warning which you said you wouldn’t do so now we are let high and dry thank you Hastings direct !

You should have received an email from us that explained why we were cancelling your policy and included the date we’d cancel it from. We apologise if you didn’t get this email. set up a new insurance policy and then changed my mind and cancelled it a few hours later as I decided to stay with my current provider. I was told in the phone by Hastings Direct that they would refund my payment in 5 working days. I’ve now received a letter saying that they are actually not going to do that and instead will hold the money for about 3 weeks till the policy was supposed to start and then send the money 5 days after that. Totally unhelpful on the phone. Avoid these bunch of crooks!

Poor claims management, poor customer service. Cheap yes, but when things do go wrong, especially when the accident was on dashcam and clearly not your fault, its made me want to pay more to a different provider, rather than have to deal with Hastings Direct's incompetence.

The worst car insurance company I came across UK in last six years, very rude customer care and very bad behaviour over the calls. Please avoid them before you repent. We bought car insurance and paid annual fee in advance, still maltreated by this group.
