About Gazegill Organics:

Our family have been farming at Gazegill for about 500 years and as current custodians our responsibility to continue farming in a sustainable and nature led way is very important. We have always believed that nature is never wrong and farming organically produces healthier food from happier animals within a sound ecological system. Happy, healthy animals make better food with a traditional flavour. The rare and traditional breeds that we keep are better suited to the organic system and are slowly grown, this ensures a longevity of life based around a natural approach to farming. We love them to bits, they are our extended family.

“We ordered 4 items to see if we liked the meat. When the order arrived one of the items was completely wrong and to be fair we received a refund on the item we did not receive. We tried the fillet of beef and it was OK but we could not tell it apart from top range supermarket fillet at half the price. We then tried the Cumberland sausages which were very fatty, very small and tasted of beef sausage and not herby, with no hint of nutmeg or cayenne as we expected. They seemed to be just beef chipolatas but very expensive and very small by the time we had rendered off the fat so we could eat them. The pork chops were large but with very high backfat depth and we could not achieve any crackling as we normally enjoy. We only have the ox cheeks to go but have put off these as we are not convinced by the quality so far. I was looking for excellence after 40 years working in the animal feed industry and our son having raised his own rare breed pigs for several years. We will not be using Gazegill again.”

“Delicious meat. My personal favourite is the beef fillet steak but, to be honest, everything we have tasted is truly delicious. The fact that the animals are well cared for is very important to me. The website is easy to use, orders are well packaged in environmentally friendly packaging and delivery is excellent. I highly recommend Gazegill.”

“Firstly I would like to congratulate you on your environmental and animal welfare standards. That said I am disappointed to find your products sealed in plastic, and although I want very much to find your products to be second to none, I have been underwhelmed generally. I am happy to pay more for high welfare standards, but did not find the higher price reflected a higher quality in terms of flavour unfortunately.”

“Always the very best of best meat….. made even better by knowing the animals lead a happy contented life and are humanely slaughtered. The fact that they are rare breed is a bonus indeed. “I’ve tried and tried to make a decent brisket since first trying it in the USA. I thought I’d give organic brisket a try and wow, what a taste sensation!! I’ll be back for more without a shadow of a doubt. Gazegill you are incredible, thank you!”

“I follow a Carnivore diet and find it really hard to find companies that do offal Burgers, Bone marrow and Raw milk. Gazegill Organics do it all, and its all organic. For my first order i have ordered Offal Burgers, Lamb Burgers, American Burgers, and different sausages. By the way, thank you Toni for preparing my box with such care and attention. Unfortunately at the time there was no Raw milk available but i hope to order soon. I cant tell you how impressed i was the the freshness and quality of the meat. For me its extremely important to fuel my body with the best quality food possible, and Gazegill Organics tick every sing box. I havent finish my first order yet, but im already ordering again just because i cant wait to try more products. “I order from gazegill regularly. 2 steaks weigh 530 gram. Before cooking I trimmed 155 gram of fat off. Still leaving fat on the steak for cooking. So basically Over £5 thrown in the bin. A ridiculous amount of waste and money.”

“I am trying to leave reviews on my latest purchases from Gazegill Organics but I can only leave a company review as there is no way to leave product reviews here, which is disappointing. Gazegill have always delivered promptly and until recently their produce has been good. But not anymore. I recently ordered Rolled Brisket, Whole Chickens and Pork Steaks. The brisket was full of fat and rubbery gristle and almost tasteless, it went in the bin, the chickens were tiny, barely reaching their minimum weight, and the pork steaks were over 40% fat. I won't be buying from Gazegill again.”

“Just had my first beef box delivered ,along with Lancashire cheese and beef bones, immediately cooked some of the minced beef for cottage pie, sneeky taste of the beef, very tender and delicious, looking forward to dinner tonight, also looking forward to trying the braising steak and stewing beef, love the picture of the farmer and his family leading their animals, that tells this country girl a lot.”

“Gazegill's lamb, beef and pork are extraordinarily good and reasonably priced. I've been buying directly from the shop and online for about a year now and have told everyone I know. The whole experience of purchasing directly from the farm surpasses all expectations. When I was having a dinner party and the whole dish was ruined by a faulty crockpot; Gazegill replaced the meat and waited at the shop after hours for me to collect it!”
