About Gazegill Organics:

Our family have been farming at Gazegill for about 500 years and as current custodians our responsibility to continue farming in a sustainable and nature led way is very important. We have always believed that nature is never wrong and farming organically produces healthier food from happier animals within a sound ecological system. Happy, healthy animals make better food with a traditional flavour. The rare and traditional breeds that we keep are better suited to the organic system and are slowly grown, this ensures a longevity of life based around a natural approach to farming. We love them to bits, they are our extended family.

“The products are amazing. But the delivery company is very unreliable up here in the Scotland depots. Every time I place an order, it arrives two days after the placement of the order. The last delivery would have taken even longer if I hadn’t phoned and complained. Not good enough considering there’s fresh produce involved. Please allow customers to use DPD as a delivery company if they choose. They’re a lot more professional and very reliable. I’d even be happy to pay extra for this if Gazegill could arrange this. Please!”

“Really grateful for the delivery of raw milk at a competitive price, given the distance the milk is travelling. Not very impressed with the cardboard cartons though, as they are not resealable. Have also enjoyed a variety of meat products. Would recommend.”

“First batch was deliciously tasty, unfortunately the second one arrived semi-spoiled which got worse as time went on but I believe its the couriers fault due to delaying the delivery for an extra day, which who knows what temperatures it was stored in, even though the milk itself is supremely packaged with ice packs, wool insulation, etc. Kindly asked if it was possible for a solution and Gazegill offered me to send another batch or for a return.”

“I regularly order their milk and it’s excellent. I wouldn’t use anything else now. Their steaks are also wonderful. My only slight criticism is that I would prefer them thicker but they’re unable to do that because of the weight apparently. Regardless of that the flavour and quality is second to none. That’s the only reason for 4 star but I would certainly give 4.8 if there was an option for this.”

“The quality of the produce continues to be outstanding and in my opinion, good value for money. However, problems with delivery continue. It seems it is not possible to impress upon the courier the need to at least attempt to alert the customer that perishable goods have been left in a hot public corridor. The courier didn't ring my bell because they would then have to carry the boxes up two (short) flights of stairs - as I had to when I discovered them. Not good enough.”

“Had some chicken legs, minted lamb burgers so far. Chicken was noticeably darker in colour and more flavoursome than supermarket chicken. The minted lamb burgers were tasty but a bit on the small side. Unpasteurised milk tasted very fresh.”

“The meat is top quality and to know it is organically produced and is so good for you is an added bonus. The meat boxes are excellent value and the quantity sizes are such good value and my only criticism would be that certain products cannot be swapped. I buy the boxes as they are tailormad for my needs such as the Keto box but sometimes there are items I do not like or cannot eat and for loyal customers a bit of flexibility would be appreciated.”

“Everything works very well - just wish we could return or re-use the packaging. Great service and to us they are the best organic meat supplier in the UK. Have visited the shop as well, and the restuarant - a fantastic set-up, and well worth the trip. Recent beef joint we had in the meat box was outstanding. And they always have a good enough selection of meats to choose from.”
