“The girls were absolutely amazing and really made my sister in laws Henny the best it could possibly be for her! The costumes, the singing and the dancing were all phenomenal and we will be speaking about it for a long time. Highly recommend to anyone who loves Abba!”

“Great band with a performance that got everyone in the mood. We held a Mexican weekend event and the band were a perfect match. Only gripe was that they perhaps could have performed a bit more. Normally our booked bands perform 2 hour + sets with encores; with the mariachi band it was 20 min slots that left a bit of "dead air" between performances. Other than that, a great performance.”

“We hired Katherine and Marcus for our wedding day and they were exactly what we were after, they were so friendly and kept in touch during the run up to our big day, checking in to make sure everything was set and ready. We couldn't have asked for a better duo. They played a fantastic variety of music, read the room perfectly and kept the atmosphere just right all evening. They sounded amazing! We would highly recommend!”

“Andy was absolutely amazing at our wedding! His piano playing created the perfect atmosphere and added such a special touch to our day. So many of our guests commented on how beautiful the music was. He’s incredibly talented and professional — we’re so glad we chose him. Highly recommend!”

“Rob played our wedding in May and we couldn’t have asked for a better pianist or person to be part of our day. He beautifully played a couple of requests for our ceremony and read the room and the atmosphere so well for the remainder of the time. Can’t wait to see him play again.”

“Hee-Drum Ho played for our Welcome Party the evening before the wedding day. They were so easy to work with and clearly professionals with timely arrivals and easy set up/ tear down. But more than than, they were such great fun! While we live in Scotland now, both my husband and I are American, so nearly all of our guests were American. Hee-Drum Ho really gave everyone a fun Scottish experience and the ceilidh calling really went better than I expected with our big group of total beginners! Many many thanks to our trio. I'd certainly recommend them to anyone looking!”

“Xotic Steel Rhythms made our wedding such a memorable day! They seemed to bring the sun with them from London all the way to Scarborough and the music really made our day extra special. Vanessa was very communicative from the offset and they played the exact songs we wanted. Definitely recommend to those who like the sound of steel pans ❤️ thanks guys! Freak music has also been great at facilitating this performance and Jeremy has been great at keeping us informed throughout 💜”

“Did not arrive in time for a full sound check so initially the master volume was too high and the vocals not clear enough. The room acoustics did not help though, wooden panels were quite echoey. Had hoped for a more jazzy sound and set list, but the band were very professional to deal with overall and people seemed to enjoy it. We just had a trio, so I imagine full band of 5 members probably swing a bit more.”

“My Dad was choosing a band for his 100th birthday. It had to be something really special. He liked the sound of Blu Velvet so we hired them through Freak Music. Wow, we weren't disappointed. Wonderful musicians and Carol has a beautiful voice. Carol and the band learned two songs that were important to my dad as they were my Mum's favourites. They even sent their own recordings of these songs to Dad after the event. Great to dance to as well as listen to, they were also understanding about the need for family and friends to chat because many of us hadn't seen each other for years. Thank you Blu Velvet for helping to make my Dad's special birthday everything he hoped it would be.”

“I was a little worried about organising everything “electronically” however Freak music were great and the band we selected for our party in April 2025, “Redwings” were amazing. We were updated regularly, everything was extremely professional and I would have no problem recommending. Thank you everyone!”
