Faulty battery and complete unwillingness to resolve the issue. I waited weeks for an engineer to come out to fix the battery which has not been working for months. He said it was a dud and needed replacement. EPC have done nothing about this for a week and when I said I wanted a different brand of battery or a refund they ignored me and started saying it was my fault. They refuse to take responsibility and push back on the customer every time. An awful company i cannot recommend. Email below where he lies about why my battery isn’t working and ignores my requests and tells me I have to do what they say..

Thanks for your feedback, though we’re obviously disappointed to read your interpretation of the situation. We want to be absolutely clear: we’ve made every reasonable effort to support you throughout this process—from the initial installation, through to the most recent engineering visit, and now as we work with the battery manufacturer to get the issue resolved. At no point have we dismissed your concerns; in fact, our engineer attended site promptly and identified the issue, which we’ve been actively escalating. As mentioned in the email you’ve shared, the battery was not operational due to it being powered down—a fact confirmed during our April visit. We're not interested in finger-pointing, but it's important to clarify this detail, as it's key to understanding the timeline. While we appreciate that this situation has been frustrating, resorting to personal attacks and publicly accusing our team of dishonesty—when we’ve been working to resolve a third-party product issue—is not a constructive way forward. We stand by our team’s professionalism and commitment to customer support.

Had huge issues with them - broke my roof, sold me mis-specced items, then tried to extort me for more money on top of what we agreed. Literally having to take them to court. AVOID!

Hello Anonymous. We are unsure what project this review relates to as we have no installations where the issues you described can be relatable. Please feel free to contact us directly if this review in genuine so this can be looked in to, info@epc-improvements.co.uk. All the best.

Have had a poor experience. Communication not great. Had to complain twice. Sent an email last week asking for job to be finished. This and subsequent email has been ignored. They did not come on the day they said and when they came later they couldn’t access the pipes to finish the job. The engineer said he would come back the following week but no one is responding to emails. It’s a shame as much of their work is good but I don’t think they understand how complicated the project is and that they need to be clearer about what is required and stick to their deadlines. If things change they need to explain what access they need and not rely on the small print of an email sent 6 weeks previously. Just because they do this all the time doesn’t mean customers know or can remember every detail.

A truly dreadful experience. What went wrong? Everything but the in-house design (which was okay) was subcontracted so nothing was seemingly EPC's responsibility - someone else. The in-house engineer/plumber was incompetent. The subcontractor installed the heat pump plumbing wrongly, then the commissioning results and commissioning certificate were fiddled to make everything seem okay. The reality was that the heating system was incapable of being commissioned: radiators never exceeded 33C - hopeless. And it took months for EPC to accept responsibility. The PV installation never happened after 7 months and we had to go elsewhere. Then EPC kept the deposit... EPC backed away from their guarantees and in any case we do not want their service as maintainers: we have no confidence in the company. However, EPC was remarkably prompt in collecting the BUS grant, which they keep! Never a hint of an apology... I could say a lot more...

The system was not installed as per the contractually agreed design. The design was changed on the fly by the installers who claimed to have never seen the design

Two failed inverters in a row, fire hazard caused by poor workmanship, reluctance to respond, refusal to compensate.

Heat pump and hot water tank installation: Each time a EPC improvements representative attended our property for the various surveys they had the wrong layout and one which we'd never discussed. We needed our loft joists to be strengthened to support the new water tank and waited several months for EPC to attend to let us know where the tank would fit so we could strengthen the structure, only for the surveyor to again have the wrong information with him. We later paid a deposit which we were told was to secure the heat pump kit we'd asked for as equipment was becoming more difficult to source, which we paid. When the install was due several months later and only 2 weeks before our green homes grant voucher was due to expire we found out that EPC hadn’t used our deposit money to buy the equipment we’d paid for, and could no longer get the kit we wanted, and only lesser smaller products were now available. We didn't want to compromise on the system and had lost confidence in the EPC management to deliver the project we asked for and requested our deposit back at the end of November 21 and abandoned our chance to use the Green Homes grant voucher. Now end of January 22 we have only just received our deposit back following the senior managements failure to communicate. We recommend you go elsewhere to a more reputable company.

Nothing wrong with this company. After phone call we sent them our house plans, asking for a quote, but they never came back. Personally I'll avoid them in future.
