We had an awning ordered. Had the survey done. Deposit taken. Then to be told weeks later that they can’t do it due to our bricks ??? Called our builder out to assess who advised us there wasn’t an issue. We are reading between the lines. Installation was going to be awkward and as we where not spending into 5 figures probably wasn’t worth the hassle for them. They also sent use someone else’s deposit receipt.

The salesman visited on 18th Sept 2020, very impressed and decided to order a glass veranda. On 12th Oct Jamie the surveyor visited to take measurements for design etc. Rebecca from planning and design has been really helpful. It took until may this year to go through my local planning council (due to our home not having work signed off before we brought it, so were applying for retrospective planning. We got the go ahead early may 2021 and was passed back for review to the surveyor and was then ordered on 21st may. The veranda was delivered on the 17th august (the people who delivered it were hardworking, and it all went well). The veranda was due to be installed on the 24th / 25th august 2021, the fitters arrived promptly and laid all the pieces out ready for installation, they started fitting the brackets to the outside of the building and said they were not happy as the extension is timber framed and would not take the weight of the veranda. They called their boss who agreed and I was told the surveyor would be with me the following morning and I would need a goalpost to support the veranda. The surveyor arrived (on time) and ordered the parts needed. I was told by the surveyor and manager they would be ready in two to three weeks. The goal post design was arranged to be delivered on Sept 30th and fitted on 5th / 6th Oct 2021. On the day of expected delivery i was called to say the drivers mate had tested positive for covid so couldn't be delivered . I did say I was still expecting it to be delivered by next week so the installation could still go ahead. I was assured they would phone later that day to update me (no phone call). I called the next morning and was told they were still trying to sort it out and she would call within an hour (which she did), but said it couldn't be delivered as they now needed a driver and so installation would not take place at the agreed time. So I have paid just under 15k and I have enclosed some photos of what I have so far. To say im not impressed is an understatement, and I hope when it is fitted I will be pleased with the end result. I was trying to add photos so people could see what I have but have been unable to do so. Thanks Lorry

I have recently purchased Valbone awning which has stopped working - used only occasionally so far. Very poor aftersale service !!! Stay away - waist of money ( a lot of money )

We are very sorry to hear that your awning stopped working. We understand you have since called into our Customer Service team and have had a visit from one of our electricians who has replaced the batteries in the sensor. We believe this to all be working well now. Of course if you do have any further questions regarding the maintenance of the awning or any issues, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Service team who will again be happy to help you in a timely manner. Terrible experience over past 9 months. I signed a deal with Eden Veranda back in September and was told it would take around 4 months to get my veranda installed. Planning permit was granted in time but we are now 9 months later and still no date provided for the installation. No news from the customer service and we need to keep chasing them to get news. We are kept in the dark with no clear visibility on when we can expect delivery, despite multiple asks as we need to do some work upfront. Very disappointed in the service, I am not even sure we will get our veranda one day…

Thank you for your feedback. We deeply regret that you are disappointed with the service you have received from us thus far and apologise for any frustration we have caused you. As you know, there was a delay in obtaining planning permission for your project, partly due to a council backlog & partly due to a filing error on our part, for which we apologise, and this unfortunately meant we could not begin manufacturing your veranda until the Spring of this year. However, we have offered to install the product for you on June 1st so you should have it available for this Summer and we are sure you will be thrilled with it when it arrives. We will investigate whether we have the correct email address for you on file as our records suggest that we have been emailing you regularly with updates, however, we are very confident that the quality of our product will go a long way to changing your opinion of us in the very near future in any event. If there is anything further we can do to help in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We had our verandah installed last July. Over the winter we had substantial leaks and flooding from where the roof joins the back wall. Eden should have carried out leading to stop water ingress but they have not done this so far.

Thank you for your review. Our Verandas and Glass Rooms are supplied with a ten year warranty for your peace of mind. Had we been made aware of the leak you were experiencing, we would have been able to arrange an engineer’s appointment rather than you sourcing your own contractor at additional expense. We are pleased to see that we have already scheduled an appointment for you. We trust that our engineer will carry out the work required to our high standard ensuring you are able to enjoy your installation for many years to come.

I am one unhappy and disappointed customer. Communication is poor your do not keep me updated. The veranda has been at my house for over two weeks and still no indication of when it will befitted, unless of course you ring me today. You have received a considerable amount of money from me. I have been told you have a fitter off ill. How one fitter being ill bring a national company to its knees I do not know. Buyers please be aware of this problem being experienced by us. I am not happy how we are not being looked after. You have a chance to redeem yourself Eden, but will you be able to?

Disgraceful. We ordered our awning in late May for installation in 4 to 6 weeks. Around the time it was due I called to get an update: left messages and emails, tried to ring directly but the people supposed to help were always busy or “they had just left the desk”. Finally I got an update via email saying that delivery was on the second week in September, no explanation, no apologies. Started a long exchange of emails to have my deposit back and cancel the order. Several dates in August were agreed and then regularly missed, cancelled last minute. Finally the awning arrives at the end of August, but they day before installation they cancelled again. More stress, more discussion. They offered a discount and a free heating. New date agreed. Awning up and running. When the old salesman first came, we explained clearly that we had 2 issues: very low sun on that side of the house (west) and very strong wind. We asked for advice. He said that awning was the right choice and wouldn’t consider other solutions. Seemed experienced, so we trusted him when he said the awning was strong and could be positioned in a bent position to screen the low sun. Result: the awning closes because of the wind (there’s a sensor), it’s straight and completely useless. And despite discount it costed like a holiday for two at the Caribbean. Just go on holiday.

Survey occurred over 30 days after deposit paid. Installation work started with over ONE MONTH delay. Wrong product was installed. I rejected it. After 3 months delay, new product arrived. But some parts are still missing. I am having a 6 months nightmare. Do not trust. Do not buy.
