Happy with the stove and installation, very disappointed with the fact I ordered a double door and then later was told there out of stock, poor customer service! Wouldn’t recommend

Hi Sam Hunter used to offer the stove you ordered as a double door stove. They discontinued the double door version and we removed the option from our web site. This option wasn't avaible from us or Hunter when you placed the order and our web site only advertised the single door option which you ordered on-line on the 3 February and we delivered on the 7th February.

Lack of communication, stove is supposed to be arriving tomorrow but no up date what so ever.

We are disappointed with the fire its self, the cast iron has been built/made off set, so the top part that sits on the top witch the flue connects into doesn’t fit into the groves wheres its suppose to. So looking at the fire it looks like its on a slant and not connected properly witch is disappointing considering the cost of this fire with the extras. You can actually see the angle its been made at and the lid doesn’t fit so it sits on top and wobbles. So overall we are gutted.

Stove was cancelled by us and cost £145 return postage. .yet to have it delivered only costs £45 ....mmmm someone es maths out ....It was also only half way here ....

Inaccurate timeliness which really messes up the installation. Twice I order for 48 hour delivery only to find its around 6 to 12 weeks lead time. Its only good value when you deliver or have supporting otherwise is a bloody con!!!

the positives: the stove looks good, very easy to order and a good price the negatives: the delivery, i know they use a third party but I had an incredibly grumpy man who refused to take the pallet delivery anywhere further than the side of the pavement as apparently this is all he is contracted to do, so then I am left with a 150kg stove on the side of the road. I had expected delivery into my house as how would I get it into my house otherwise??

Overall disappointment really. Website claimed the heat and grill units were ready for dispatch in April when we paid. Took a lot longer and a damaged unit was delivered Direct stoves failed to appreciate it is their responsibility to supply and deliver the unit and tried to push this responsibility on to Chesney which only further delayed the delivery of the undamaged unit Customer services person (male) was shouty and talked over me after I made direct stoves aware of the damage. Unprofessional and dismissive. Sarah blackshaw has done well to keep me up to date and the unit is a great product. I would not recommend direct stoves after this experience. Craig Dow

we ordered stove and 3 days later we received a message that the stove is unavailable. after several days and emails, finally someone got in contact. the price matching option they advertise is not an option , as they were not able to over us another stove, cheaper on a competitors website (trade standards???)and so for we opted for a refund. still waiting to get our money back! not happy at all!

Lovely item but the customer service is shocking. Promised delivery fri then changed fri morning to sat. Arrived and when it was unpacked it was damaged. Decided to keep as damage wasn't in very visible area's. Emailed them pics within 24hrs (mon). Was told they couldn't make out damage on my pictures as was too close. Then was told id obviously done the damage all in an email where they spelt my name wrong. Then phoned me to basically say they check there items so was my fault. Im sorry but after building it i don't believe every item is unpacked from the manufacturer and re pack unless they employ a arm of weight lifters. Review won't let me add photos of damage.

Thank you for your review and sorry you feel the need to give us a 1 star review. The haulage company had an issue which meant they weren't able to deliver your BBQ on the Friday as agreed so it was re arranged for the Saturday morning. Its rare but sometimes haulage companies get too many goods in and have to move deliver dates around. When it does happen we always offer a Saturday delivery to hopefully reduce any inconvenience. You sent several photos of the Masonry BBQ after it had been built and in one of the photos there was a small chip in the bottom of the leg. As you'd built the BBQ before reporting any damage we were able to do much to fix the issue as to replace the leg would've meant dismantling the full BBQ. This really isn't an option with a masonry BBQ as all the parts are cemented together. It was a very small chip and did detract from the appearance of the BBQ, nor was it very visible as it was on the inside of the leg.

Still haven’t had the item yet. I know it happens but we got a call about 4. 4 30 to say it wasn’t coming. All day we waited. I read a review before I went with you and there was one on there saying the same thing as I’m saying now.

Hi Ian I'm very sorry that the delivery failed on the selected delivery date. Unfortunately sometimes deliveries do fail and the haulage companies fail to let us know that there's an issue. We do choose the haulage companies we work with carefully and overall we have a delivery success rate of over 98%. I know that doesn't help you as your delivery obviously didn't arrive on the selected date but I can see that it was delivered the following day at 10am. I'm very sorry about the issues you had with your delivery.
