“Novel helmet design, but its good to stand out in the crowd :). Quality product. Made in the UK. Sea Shepherd edition for me. What's not to like?”

“On the product page, in your face, it says "30 day no quibble returns". it turns out there's some quibble that you'll only find out about if you have a reason to return. Head circumference fit fine, so off I went. After 15-20 min cycling, I get an annoying head ache as there's a constant friction between the helmet and the top/back of my head. Perhaps my genetics are to blame, as this area on me is quite big bonned. I got in touch with customer service and, because I had taken the tags off - remember I had to ride for a while to find out the problem - the helmet couldn't be returned. They suggested me to take the inner pads off, now not only have I the very same head ache, I also get scalp irritation, as the rough side of the velcro is scratching my skin. I like the product finishing and style, and a local company (it's made in the UK, after all) deserves respect, that's why I won't rate it lower, but now I'm stuck with a helmet I won't use, a £70+ prop put away in my wardrobe.”

Hi Giu Thank you for your feedback and we were sorry to hear our helmet hasn’t been a good fit for you. Our 30-day returns policy applies to items that are unused, with tags still attached. As this helmet has been worn and the tags removed, we’re unable to accept it back for a refund. This is standard practice for safety equipment and ensures all customers receive products in new condition. Also, it is hard for us a as a small business as it means that we cannot sell your returned helmet. In our email to you on 13th April, we suggested trying the helmet without the internal pads, as this can often improve fit. This would have included removing the velcro in addition but we apologise if that wasn’t made clear. We did offer you a 50% discount on a larger size to help resolve the issue, but we didn’t receive a response. That offer remains open should you wish to take it up. If you’d like to move forward with this, please contact us directly and we’ll be happy to assist. Kindest regards Dashel

“Great hat and i like the quick release. I also like the peak and not looking like a Muppet whilst wearing it. Fit perfectly without any adjusting. The straps came at their full extension which was just right for me although if i'd wanted to extend them I couldn't see how. Maybe I was missing something and there was another adjuster? All in all I'd say well worth the not inconsiderable outlay, but I did help save the planet... Just a tiny bit.”

“I finally received my new Dashel helmet after a nightmare experience with Royal Mail, who lost the delivery in their system and then returned the item to Dashel, rather than simply delivering to me like they were supposed to do. Full marks to Dashel who reposted the item to me without quibble. - The helmet itself fits perfectly, is well made and definitely a keeper. It looks very stylish and far more appealing than your average helmet. Top marks Dashel for service and for producing a great product.”

“Having had a carbon fibre Dashel for some time, I needed to replace it. Unfortunately, I understand from the company that these are no longer made at the moment, so I opted to go with the non carbon fibre model. For me, and of course this is subjective, the non carbon fibre model was bulkier and heavier. I think I was spoiled by the carbon fibre version, which I think, no other helmet can beat. It is perfect. It's light and the fit is excellent. I had to return the other helmet. The customer service was excellent. Communication was first class and my refund arrived almost immediately. I'm assured that Dashel are going to start production of the carbon fibre version, and I will reorder when they come out.”

Once you go Carbon Fibre, it's hard to go back! So pleased that you were happy with our service even so. We'll be sure to be in touch as soon as the first run of CF helmets are off the production line!

“Really good kids helmet. Looks cool (for urban cycling at least) and is solid as well as comfortable. Sale price encouraged a purchase (followed by a second one) but having bought them, I would be happy to pay original price for this quality. Helmet arrived in a few days and was well packaged-no chance of being damaged in post. Used for cycling to school and around town. Kids love them. The coating of the helmet does scratch quite easily but it kinda adds to its character rather than detract from it.”

“Delivery was super-fast - my helmet came the day after I ordered it. I chose the standard model in Sage Green, and picked the Ocean Edition because I wanted to support marine conservation work. It's lovely: a much more appropriate style for riding my e-bike and Brompton than my usual road helmet, and so refreshing to be able to buy a properly sustainable and recyclable cycling product that's also made in the UK. It's light, comfortable and looks great; I love the hanging loop made from recovered fishing net on the back, too. It's not as highly ventilated than my road helmet, but fine for less strenuous riding; and I'm looking forward to the extra warmth in winter! I also love that I can buy a set of replacement pads for just £5: so useful and such a great way to prolong its service life. Really happy with the product, the service and the whole philosophy behind it.”

“Up until now I’ve only ever had a super sporty looking helmet which didn’t really fit my personality or a skate style one which made me look a little bit like a lightbulb. Figured I’d try something a bit nicer and it’s definitely paid off. For once my helmet actually makes me feel a bit cooler! I’m right between sizes so took a little trial and error to get the right size and customer supports has been fantastic helping with that. Overall really happy with Dashel and find the helmet (now I have the right size) really comfortable.”

“Bonjour, alors effectivement je suis terriblement déçu pour la petite languette. Vous avez sur l'image une languette magnifique jaune avec des petites bordures. C'est vraiment très jolie. J'ai bien vu que sur le site l'image n'était pas forcément la même languette mais là j'ai une languette noire toute lisse. Ce n'est pas du tout ce qu'il y a sur la photo”
