“I have just - literally - received my Dashel Ocean helmet. I would just like to express how thrilled I am with it. It is a work of art and fantastically engineered. As a former product designer, I am naturally drawn to how the fine details are dealt with. Everything about this helmet is executed to the highest standards and concern for finessed detailing. Additionally, I absolutely love the sustainability aspect of this helmet and the use of ghost net content in its construction. Ethically, I am impressed with your company ethos in owning something designed and manufactured in the UK exclusively by women. (Other manufacturers could take note!) Beyond these important factors, the fit is spot-on and the weight is barely noticeable. I absolutely love it. One extremely happy customer. Beyond any doubt - this is a five-star product.”

“After buying my wife a Dashel helmet a couple of years ago (she loves hers) I decided to get the Sea Shepherd edition. The helmet is a bit hot in warm weather and I was disappointed that the Sea Shepherd logo appears to be just a sticker (I would have bought a nicer colour and made the donation to SS myself if I'd have known this)”

Hi Graham, sorry you're not keen on the sticker, it is a weather-proof decal so made to last, but we get your point! We will be printing the next edition of Sea Shepherd helmets. We needed to start off small to test demand and prevent waste. The loop that you have on the back of your helmet was from a net that Sea Shepherd collected, so hopefully that makes it feel more special. Thanks so much for your support. Catherine

“Good to see a British manufacturer of cycle helmets, who actually make their helmets here, not assemble imported components. The helmet is a stylist design with enough of a built in ‘peak’ to shield my glasses from the rain. It’s a bit lacking in ventilation holes on hot summer days but good in our regular cooler weather, and less easy for insects to trapped in the helmet. The helmet is relatively heavy compared with regular road bike lid, but reassuringly sturdy. Has a useful loop on the rear that will take a rear light but there’s nowhere to strap a front light or camera - you’d need a glued or Velcro mount. As the design doesn’t bulge at the rear it’s great if you ride recumbent bikes that have a seat or headrest as you don’t bump the helmet on the seat. You need to adjust the fit correctly so you can’t feel the adjuster dial press into the back of your neck. Overall a good & attractive design, especially for leisure & city riding, e-scooters and recumbents, less suited to fast road bike riders or mountain biking where you need more ventilation and lighter weight.”

The service from the Dashel team was exceptional. “So pleased with my new Dashel helmet. I found it hard to decide which colour at first, but I settled on the sky blue and it looks lovely. I actually own a small bike retail shop, but I didn't like the how any of the bike helmets looked on me - I ordered the Dashel as it was a different style of helmet. It sits much more down on my head and I think I look much better in this style than others. I haven't been out on my bike with it yet, but I do keep popping it on and having a look in the mirror and I am very pleased with how it looks on me. Thank you Dashel for your patient while I was choosing which colour to have.”

“I got a helmet on a whim from a different company and I felt like it made me look like a Vietnamese war soldier on my bike. I found the red Dashel when looking for a new helmet I’d be more likely to wear. I put some reflective stickers on it to make it into a ladybug. I love the color, fit, and the look.”

“I live in The Netherlands where almost nobody wears a helmet. However having lost an acquaintance to a simple cycling accident, I decided to embrace protection. This great English product is as minimal as I can imagine and is light and comfortable. The only issue I have is that the strap is slightly too tight.”

“Just purchased my second Dashel helmet, a a navy blue “2nd generation” model that comes with a couple of very welcome new features. Retaining the same cool aesthetic, Dashel helmets are the pinnacle of minimalist design, the new model features a seamlessly integrated dial fit adjuster at the back and, a seemingly, slightly longer chin strap, both ensuring a better more comfortable fit for me. Sadly my previous helmet was stolen so was unable to recycle it with the company, but the super nice team still offered me an upfront discount as a gesture of good will due to a tiny delay in shipping, hardly their fault during the Christmas holiday shutdown, but very appreciated none the less. The team was very attentive in their communication with me and friendly, adding to an all round excellent experience. Thoroughly recommended by me.”

“I bought my first Dashel carbon fibre some years ago. It is the first bicycle helmet that I actually enjoy wearing. The helmet protects me from sun, rain and wind. I was so pleased with it, I bought another one, and another one, and so on. I now have 6 Dashel carbon fibre helmets in different colours. For my newest helmet, I sized up, to wear a beanie inside the helmet in winter time. Helmet with beanie is great for cold days.”
