On the product page, in your face, it says "30 day no quibble returns". it turns out there's some quibble that you'll only find out about if you have a reason to return. Head circumference fit fine, so off I went. After 15-20 min cycling, I get an annoying head ache as there's a constant friction between the helmet and the top/back of my head. Perhaps my genetics are to blame, as this area on me is quite big bonned. I got in touch with customer service and, because I had taken the tags off - remember I had to ride for a while to find out the problem - the helmet couldn't be returned. They suggested me to take the inner pads off, now not only have I the very same head ache, I also get scalp irritation, as the rough side of the velcro is scratching my skin. I like the product finishing and style, and a local company (it's made in the UK, after all) deserves respect, that's why I won't rate it lower, but now I'm stuck with a helmet I won't use, a £70+ prop put away in my wardrobe.

Hi Giu Thank you for your feedback and we were sorry to hear our helmet hasn’t been a good fit for you. Our 30-day returns policy applies to items that are unused, with tags still attached. As this helmet has been worn and the tags removed, we’re unable to accept it back for a refund. This is standard practice for safety equipment and ensures all customers receive products in new condition. Also, it is hard for us a as a small business as it means that we cannot sell your returned helmet. In our email to you on 13th April, we suggested trying the helmet without the internal pads, as this can often improve fit. This would have included removing the velcro in addition but we apologise if that wasn’t made clear. We did offer you a 50% discount on a larger size to help resolve the issue, but we didn’t receive a response. That offer remains open should you wish to take it up. Service great and helmet is fine but photos don’t show that it’s a foam interior to the helmet so very warm and not very light. Less foam and a cage would be preferred.

Hi Chris, thanks glad you liked the service & helmet. The liner is made from lightweight EPS foam, same as 99% of all other cycle helmets, we do state this in every product description. Our liners are slimmer than most, so this is the first time we've had someone expecting something different, but then we've not heard of cage liner so we will keep an eye out...
After buying my wife a Dashel helmet a couple of years ago (she loves hers) I decided to get the Sea Shepherd edition. The helmet is a bit hot in warm weather and I was disappointed that the Sea Shepherd logo appears to be just a sticker (I would have bought a nicer colour and made the donation to SS myself if I'd have known this)

Hi Graham, sorry you're not keen on the sticker, it is a weather-proof decal so made to last, but we get your point! We will be printing the next edition of Sea Shepherd helmets. We needed to start off small to test demand and prevent waste. The loop that you have on the back of your helmet was from a net that Sea Shepherd collected, so hopefully that makes it feel more special. Thanks so much for your support. Catherine
