“Karen delivered a very informative session on enteral feeding. Clear information, well structured learning outcomes - starting with anatomy which is always helpful. I found it beneficial to discuss the different types of tubes and insertion techniques as well as the risks or complications associated with each. The video demonstrating the surgical procedure of inserting a PEG was very interesting for the group to see. I am glad the session covered how to prevent tube blockage, displacement and actions to take. It was good to talk through setting up a feeding pump on the machines used in our setting, such as "zeroing" the pump. I think it was a good thing to also talk about associated factors with peg feeding and maintenance such as documentation, consent, privacy and dignity etc. Thank you for this teaching session”
