“I wouldn’t recommend. Ordered and paid for next day delivery for an anniversary present. Order still showed as ‘processing’ two days later. Customer Service person told me to check the tracking, completely missing the point! Explained to them again and still no help/apology. Eventually got a refund, but would have rather the gift had been delivered as ordered! Will definitely not use again.”
“Dreadful….Plants received were nothing like those advertised. Sent three emails requesting comments from Carbeth Plants all of which remain unanswered! Nobody answers the telephone at customer services. Don’t even think of using this company …avoid.”
“I give 1 star as I have tried to contact to ask where is the rest of my order. there is no note on the delivery note to indicate when and if the rest of my order will be supplied.
I have tried sending an email and it was returned to me unknown email. I have tried calling and the answering machine is full and cannot take any more calls.
I have also tried contacting SHOP and no help at all. says no contact with this company. Have to say _PLANTS are BRILLIANT but where is the rest of my order??”
“❌ I strongly advise against buying from this shop.
I ordered two oleaster (Elaeagnus) shrubs and paid extra for next-day delivery. Despite that, the parcel arrived late — as if I had chosen the free shipping option.
The plants arrived dry, in poor condition and clearly low quality. Some leaves were yellow or had already fallen off.
I did receive replies from the shop, but they were dismissive or not accurate, and the issue was never taken seriously.
Very poor customer service and a disappointing overall experience.
Not worth the money or the stress. Definitely not recommended.”
“Ordered a laurel bush in 9 litre container which was delivered upside down in a box, was the wrong type of laurel and in a 5 litre tub! Emaile my complaint and received a second box also packed upside down, was again the wrong bush and in a 5 litre container. I have now got my money back and will not be doing business with Carbeth again.
Particularly annoying that there was no phone line to ring to voice a complaint!!”
“PLANTS ARRIVED DEAD AND DAMAGED
SENT 4 EMAILS TO CARBETH NO RESPONSE
WROTE A LETTER TO CARBETH NO RESPONSE
I TRIED...THEY DON'T CARE
VOTE WIYH MY FEET”
“They either lie or don't read their emails.
Emailed them Sunday afternoon to change delivery address, received an email Monday afternoon saying that they couldn't change it as it had already been shipped.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS”
“Lets pretend that the photo looks anything like what actually arrived. THAT ASIDE. Very poor packaging damaged the plant, it was a birthday gift sent to my grandma who lives far away so nothing I could do. Plant was broken, unwatered, basically dead. Emailed the company and they couldn't care less. After much back and forth they refunded £5. That just covered shipping. Save the stress and shop somewhere else!”
“Do not order from this company!!! Two climbing roses ordered. Arrived upside down in a box marked to stand them upside down! They were prune to fit the box so need lots of time to grow more than 15cm! They were ordered with a slow realise feed. However nothing has been inserted (Easy to see as soil has fallen out in upside down transit!) emailed Carbeth and got the most sarcastic unhelpful response! Finally telling me they had no facility to photograph and prove the slow the plant feed had ever been added!!! Such a shame as I like to buy from small companies. I would recommend shopping elsewhere!”
“I was sent the wrong plants (trailing mixed instead of compact white Lobelia). When I telephoned and emailed to point out the error, I received no response. The message box was “full” and the email address didn’t work.
I later found the same plants elsewhere much cheaper. Very disappointing.”
“I emailed them about the poor condition on arrival of my rose plant. I haven't had a reply about this. The rose was very small, and looked in poor condition, I am still not sure it will survive. I would have like a response from Carbeth to acknowledge my concerns. I only bought from them as this rose was out of stock from my usual supplier. I won't be buying from them again.”
“Arrived 4 days late when I paid for next day delivery and I’m so disappointed with what came. It’s July. Roses are in bud or bloom. Not a single bud and 2 branches dying back. Shocking!”
