“Viola plants arrived in poor state.
50% dead. Root rot.
Emailed twice, no response.
Poor value for money.
Won't buy from Carbeth again.
A response to email would have been good
And replacement plants”
“Very disappointed. Ordered 2 rose bushes, only one arrived. When I contacted Carbeth to advise a problem with my order, they did send a replacement but no apology given. Not great.”
“I received a parcel which contained 3 plants but I ordered 4. 2 plants that I ordered were amazing and are doing super well. The Chinese money plant which is what I really wanted never arrived or did the Areca palm. I wrote to you to let you know the issue as soon as the plants arrived with a photo and I have heard nothing from you since. I do expect my money back at this stage as I will look elsewhere where for my plant needs”
“Im sorry to leave a poor review but I did not have a good experience. Ive left 2 stars because customer service was fairly good, but the plants I received were really bad. I ordered a sage plant, £10.99 plus almost £5 I think for postage. It arrived with a lot of dead leaves crammed into a box with only bubble wrap lining one side of the box for protection. I wrote and told them I was unhappy and was offered a refund or replacement. I opted for replacement, so long as they did have a healthy plant to send. However a few days later I discovered that the plant was now teeming with two kinds of pest. A small oval green type stuck to the leaves, and a fast, running, tiny dark brown type. I wasn't familiar with either. They must have simply removed live bugs before sending only to have them hatch again shortly after. I wrote to explain this, and was told the replacement had already shipped. When it arrived, there were a few mature leaves, some dead leaves, and 4 or 5 cut off mature stems. It was much smaller, as a result, than the first. It had likely had an infestation too and been cut back to remove damage. Concerened it may also have an infestation still I didn't want to put it outside with my other plants- or in next to the other one which still was infested as I was waiting for a spray I ordered to arrive. I put it elsewhere, and next day sprayed both of them. the second (smaller) plant to arrive promptly dropped dead. I have no idea why- maybe it had already been sprayed before posting and this was overkill for it. It never returned to life. The original one has a single remaining stem alive but wasn't damaged by the spray. Carbeth refunded only some of my money, which I only just realised. I was not refunded postage despite this all being their fault. Furthermore, it was stressful, the worry the infestation would have spread (I didn't notice it for a few days). Also I did have to buy and apply a pest killer so there was that expense (about £7) and I do not actually have a healthy plant for that, yet. So I have spent about £12 and have a single stem of sage which may or may not make it. And it was major hassle.”
“Ordered 6 Gunni Azura Eucalyptus and 2 Jasmine plants. Initially I only received the Jasmine plants and had to chase for remainder of my order. When the Eucalyptus plants arrived they were tiny and in a very poor state and in no respect resembled the website image. The box had mites crawling around in it. I removed one from the box to photograph so I could show Carbeth a close up of the poor state of the plants. I immediately disposed of plants and box as I didn’t want my own plants infected with anything. I was offered a refund for the one plant in the photo. I wouldn’t purchase anything from Carbeth, the plant quality is abysmal. I also ordered 6 Gunni Azura plants in 9 cm pots from Thompson & Morgan and what a difference! I received 6 beautiful healthy tall plants. Shocking difference between those and the quality of plants from Carbeth. Photo showing Carbeth Eucalyptus Gunni Azura v the healthy version from Thompsons and Morgan. Thompson & Morgan were a good deal cheaper too.”
“The reason for the 1 is for the quality of the rose I received not the service. The service I received was excellent but the rose I purchased was very poor, however, Carbeth were very quick to refund my money as the rose I purchased was for a gift and it was totally unsuitable to give to my friend.”
“Order delayed 3wks, had to email them just to get it sent. One item out of stock in that time obviously. When delivery arrived one of the plants was in a state you need to see to believe, emailed them and asked for a refund, didn't receive a reply. Used them last year and was really happy. This year the complete order from start to finish was a nightmare. Literally everything about it was bad.”
“I ordered a electric orange busy lizzie I recieved a red one £12.99 a wax flower at 19.99 which was dead in a week a very poor service wouldn't shop there again!”
“I sent for plants but one of them was broken although I complained and they sent a replacement the flower on it was missing looked like it was snipped off to fit in the box very disappointed ☹️”
“First and last time ordering from this company! Plants were badly packed so arrived dried out, dead and badly damaged. However on the plus side they did refund me in full after providing photos.”
“Dreadful experience. Ordered a plant birthday gift, with guaranteed 2-4 days delivery. 12 days later no updates and no plant. When I chased them up they simply said they hadn't been able to source the stock . I suspect they would have just left my order in limbo had I not chased. Absolutely no customer care.”
“I ordered a electric orange buzie lizzy and received a pink one and wasn't in good condition and a jasmine on a hoop within 24hrs leaves are turning yellow I'm very disappointed!!”
“Very poor, said they had sent purchase on fast delivery, had not, said they would send item again after 10 days, and then the following day said they did'nt have item in stock, rubbish”
“Out of the 120 plants bought 38 of the runners had no tops these have not shown any sign of growth as you can see the difference between the ones with tops are flourishing, photos included. I will not be recommending you at any time. White markers indicate failed plants.”
“Condition when arrived: Roses browned around edges lots of leaves had dropped.
Customer service said this was to be expected.
Will make sure people know never to buy anything from you.”
“2 of the 3 plants were dead
However good packaging and not damaged so should not have been sent
Refund agreed but would take up to 2 weeks
Advised no replacement plants available - mm”
“Not good I placed a order through B&Q with Carbeth plants for 2 sets of 5 plants, thats 10, staff here must have a problem with numbers, I was only sent 7, 2 of which were in a very poor state and died, weeks later still having problems, I still await the out come before leaving full review,”
“Received order 17.7.2025 3 boxes 2 contained total of 9 dwarf sweet peas. One contained several phloxes. Writing to you separately. No items correct repotting mix and liquid feed not sent”
“The quality of the plants before dispatch was poor, well below my expectation. Even after contacting them on 3 occasions, we could not reach a satisfactory conclusion. I would never use again. Poor quality and poor after service.”
