Very professionally organised tour with good balance of flexibility for seeing the arranged and optional tour . Very responsible driver of the Coach bus in navigating the narrow roads across the 3 Baltic states. Good and efficient tour director for the English speaking group with good local knowledge .

I found the Baltic travel company online whilst searching for a short new years trip to Iceland. They offered just what I wanted. There was a little confusion with the drafting of the tailor made programme but it was quickly resolved and I got what I wanted. I think I paid more than those using other travel companies but otherwise cannot fault the service. The trip was fabulous. The group was very diverse and hence interesting. The tour guide was enthusiastic to show us his country. The local tour company did everything to make our trip enjoyable. All in all a great way to welcome in the new year. I would definitely use this company again.

We had a wonderful time and Tromso is such a beautiful town, with all the lights and the snow which made its first appearance on our first day. My daughter told me it was the inspiration for the staging post city on the way to "the north" in the Golden Compass film/ books by Philip Pullman The trips were great and I really loved the reindeer one. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful with everything e.g getting into the overalls. We did see the Northern Lights - quite faint and I didn't realise that they show up better on a camera even a mobile one than the naked eye. However, I am very pleased with what we saw. If I was going again I would make time for a whale watching cruise as well, although I'm not too worried as we've a trip planned to Alaska next year. We also went up the cable car and to the artic cathedral. I would heavily recommend getting "spikes" that you clip under boots to help with the icy pavements. Some people earlier in the week had had the sled ride cancelled as it hadn't snowed sufficiently then and the snow is arriving later each year so people might need to go later in the season if that is a priority for them. Thank you again for organising. It all went very smoothly

So pleased with our Iceland holiday booked with Baltic Travel- we had a wonderful time and it was very well-organised. Our agent Laura was incredibly helpful from start to finish! She answered lots of questions, provided excellent advice and suggestions and was always responsive and professional. Highly recommend!

From start to finish, the experience of booking and travelling was super easy. We spoke to Inga, our representative on the phone or via email, and she understood our preferences, budget and preferred dates and turned it into an unforgettable trip. We started with a day stop over in Iceland, with a lovely hotel, and then travelled onto Greenland. The excursions were with World of Greenland, who had some very knowledgable, friendly guides, and we kayaked amongst icebergs, hiked along the glacier ice-fjiord and sailed to Eqi glacier to watch it calve. We also had a very memorable nighttime boat ride where a pod of humpback whales swam under the boat! All in all a very wonderful experience!

Every part of our holiday went really smoothly and we had a great time. Laura dealt really well with all my demands during the booking process, putting together an excellent itinerary for us. It really helped to have her involved, especially with the changing travel rules.

I was impressed with the professionalism of the Baltic staff. They listened to my requests for change or concern. Were extremely helpful when the unexpected occurred and went out of their way to ensure my trip was as enjoyable as possible. Thanks to Inga and Laura. My one suggestion is to have a larger presence in Australia. The company is little known at home. Cheers.

We had a great holiday, touring the highlights of the Baltics. The hotels were excellent. The one in Vilnius had a Lithuania corner at breakfast, allowing us to try out some local foods, and all were within walking distance of the capital's old town. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly, and the tours themselves very good and nicely paced. The ability to book onto the optional tours also suited us well and allowed us to assess our energy levels before committing to another tour. On the days we chose not to, there was still plenty to see and do at our own pace. We just wish we'd had more time! More time to walk the Hill of Crosses and Rundale Palace, an extra day in Tallinn, and longer city walking tours so the breaks were long enough for toilets, coffee, queuing for both, and a sit down, in particular. We hope to return another time.

We went to Moscow and St Petersburg with Baltic Travel (Tour Operator) on their Highlights of Russia in late September. We thoroughly enjoyed it. It was well organised and we saw a lot in the 8 days we were there. I would certainly go on holiday with Baltic Travel (Tour Operator) again.

The holiday was very well organised by Baltic Travel and all of the arrangements fell into place. We all enjoyed ourselves and the only reservation is the relatively high cost of living in Denmark.

We had an excellent trip to Iceland in August on the Active Iceland Holiday. The trip lived up to its name with a variety of different activities. We particularly enjoyed the river rafting, the horse riding and the whale watching. The Blue Lagoon was much better than we expected and a great chance to relax. We found the ATV trip rather too adventurous at the start-certainly not a trip for beginners. Also, for the ice climbing you do need stiff soled boots. On our free day, we enjoyed wandering around Reykjavik and were very fortunate that it coincided with the local marathon and Cultural Night. There were a few trip days when we did not get back to Reykjavik until 8/9 pm so had to miss out on "Happy Hour"! Accommodation at the Foss Hotel Reykjavik was very comfortable with excellent buffet breakfasts. Iceland is expensive so be prepared when you go out-or stay in! It is definitely well worth a visit.

Baltic Travel organised an excellent holiday for us in north Norway and the Lofoten islands. Everything went according to plan and the guides we met were reliable, knowledgeable and easy to get on with. We would travel with you again.

All the travel arrangements for visiting The Faroes went exactly at expected in spite of several changes that became necessary. Choosing between flying from Gatwick and changing at Copenhagen or from Edinburgh direct we chose Gatwick, but there's some hassle in recovering luggage and then transferring to Atlantic Airways for the second leg. On the other hand, Copenhagen is an interesting city and English is widely spoken, so a couple of days stay is worth including. I managed to take the train to Roskilde where there is a fine museum including relics of 5 Viking longboats . The Absolon bed and breakfast hotel in Copenhagen is excellent. The Faroes are truly grand and awesome. The tours arranged and the guide were first rate. Torshaven is a good base with plenty of activity and cafe's in the harbour with opportunities to wander round and go by bus (all free!) to the Museum. There is also a fine Art Gallery within walking distance of Torshaven centre. The Torshaven Hotel is 3 stars and whilst the food and staff are good and its central location an advantage, the rooms are relics of construction in 1923 being too small for reasonable comfort. We travelled as a family of four, with an 11 year old daughter and 9 year old son, to Reykjavik this February. We took a 5 day break and were based at Foss Hotel Reykjavik throughout. Our arrival in Iceland boded well, the airport is clean, modern and spacious. We followed the directions provided to find the transfer coach to the hotel. The company is Grayline but it is not immediately obvious which coach to take, we just needed to approach and enquire. We were dropped off right outside Foss Hotel Reykjavik. The hotel is the largest in the city but does not feel overwhelming busy. Even at breakfast time when you are most aware of the volume of people the buffet and various drinks dispensing stations were always easily accessible, so everything runs smoothly. We had a family room and, as apparently these are only on the second floor, unfortunately we had no view of the harbour. Also conference rooms are above, so late at night, around 11pm, and early in the morning I could hear tables and chairs being moved around as the room was reconfigured. The noise is not terrible, and in fact I think I was the only one of our family to be aware of it. We had dinner in the hotel one night, this is again buffet style, but the chef does also cook fresh dishes while you watch, I had some delicious cod. The meat also also very good. We, and particularly my son, were delighted to meet the chef, a genuine Iceland strong man! The buffet is very plentiful and varied to cater for all nationalities. We also ate in the bar restaurant below reception one night and the food was delicious. Another real highlight of the hotel were the fabulous lighting fixtures, obviously a lot of thought and expense had gone into selecting these. Reykjavik itself is a lovely city to easily explore on foot, the centre itself is very small and charming. We also enjoyed the Volcano House and Icelandic fish and chips at the end of the harbour. Nearby to this was the wonderful Harpa building which is an architectural wonder and we revisited it at least 4 times during our short stay! Turning to the tours which we took during our stay, I would say that the pick up point is in fact just outside the hotel, at a bus stop only around 30 metres away (bus stop 12), and not as directed on the instructions provided with our documents (I think that was around 3 minutes away and may have been bus stop 4). Once we had realised that all pick ups were very smooth. Usually you are picked up at the hotel, taken to the central bus depot and transferred from there to a larger, comfortable coach for the day tour. We took the Golden Circle tour, all the stops that day were well managed and though we would have liked more time at each obviously there is lots to pack in on the day so I understand the time constraints. The only disappointment that day, mainly for the children, was that there was no stop at the Icelandic Horse Park which had been mentioned on the website for this tour. We then took the Northern Lights tour in the evening, after dinner, we were taken to a seaside stop, right by a lighthouse, possibly surprising, given the light given out, there was a cafe which stayed open right up until the departure of coaches at around 11.45. We did not see the lights, but certainly had not been expecting to in any case. The next day’s tour was the South Coast and Waterfalls, there was a lot to see during this tour but we were very disappointed by the very short amount of time given to see Skogafoss waterfall, this is truly spectacular and 25 minutes was way to short to experience it fully. On the way we had a terribly long ‘comfort’ break at a shop and toilets at which a large amount of other coaches had also stopped. The large shop was solid with people queuing for the toilets. An alternative stop would have been far better. It would have helped if the toilets on the various coaches had been in service, they never were. The time given at stops during the remainder of the day was fine however. On our final day we went to the Blue Lagoon, although it does appear in the changing rooms that it may be worryingly busy in the water, in fact it isn’t. The size of the pools is surprisingly large, with many areas to explore and it is easy to find tranquility to fully enjoy the experience. We spent 4 hours in the water and enjoyed the bar and complementary face mask! The children particularly loved this part of the holiday and it is quite magical. It is very easy to take a bus back to Reykjavik whenever you feel like leaving, they are regular and not busy. To conclude, we had an amazing holiday, seeing one geological marvel after another, the people were very friendly and had a dry humour and easy manner. We would definitely like to go back to Iceland and will be using Baltic Travel again for this and the next trip we plan, to Norway.

Really enjoyed our recent trip to Iceland, the hotel was lovely and standard of service was very good. All the trips we took through Baltic Travel were of a high standard, got to see quite a bit of what Iceland has to offer, just a shame we didn’t get to see the northern lights, unfortunately it was a very cloudy day and evening, and it was snowing. So we will definitely be making a trip back to this beautiful country in the future. Maybe offer the northern lights tour for 2 nights rather than just one, then at least you have a better chance of seeing them! M.Watts
