“We booked a holiday with Daina based on the Arctic Combo offering, but extended and personalised to our needs. She could not have been more helpful in the planning of the trip, and her communication throughout was excellent It was a fabulous trip overall, though the weather could have been a bit kinder ;-) The gale force winds made the cruise interesting, but at least the ship made it to Kirkenes, as the previous cruise did not. The weather also caused the cancellation of 3 pre-booked excursions, the refunds for these were handled promptly by Daina. The highlights for both of us were the Long Reindeer Sledding, Feeding and Sami Culture experience in Tromsø and the husky Northern Lights hunt in Kirkenes. For the reindeer excursion, we had an absolutely brilliant Sami guide (Ilya?) who is a law student and really passionate about her culture and the future of her way of life. Our dog musher was a lovely young man from Poland called Maciek (or similar) with a ginger beard - his love for the dogs was palpable, and he was really engaging and informative for the entire excursion. Oh, and the sand pit at the Troll Museum in Tromsø was worth the entry price alone!! We saw the Northern Lights in Tromsø on a trip with Norwegian Travel that we booked independently, and also during the husky hunt in Kirkenes as well as from the Snow Hotel. We independently booked an additional Northern Lights Hunt by minibus from the Snow Hotel for our last night, but this was a real waste of money. We stopped at one dark location beside the fjord, and saw some lights. The sea mist was not ideal, but we did get a few pictures. We then drove about 5-10 minutes down the road to find somewhere to turn around, and were then taken to the Russian border for hot drinks and biscuits. We really did not see the point of this detour, as the location is floodlit, so there was no chance of seeing any further lights from here - it felt like a ruse to run the clock down, and from there, we were taken straight back to the hotel. In all, we were given no more than 15 minutes to look for lights in the entire excursion. We booked a Whale Watching trip from Tromsø Norwegian Travel on MS Rygertroll, which was good, although we had to leave the area early due to an incoming storm front. We did manage to see some humpback whales, but unfortunately no Orca.”

“We had a lovely honeymoon in Lapland in Nov 2024. Inga organised the whole trip, even organising a surprise bottle of wine and chocolates as a congratulations which was so kind. Overall we didn’t have to plan a single thing, all was organised so well from flights, transfers, accommodation and excursions. Thank you for your help and a perfect honeymoon.”

“One of the reasons I booked this trip was the amazing enthusiam and professionalism from our agent Inga .Not only was she amazingly knowledgeble about the trip and region but she helped us build our itineray by clearly listening to our questions. She really gave the impression that making sure that everything was perfect for us was the main reason she got out of bed in the mornings. Its not often you get such service and I think it needs to be acknowledged. I would 100% recommend the company for their attention to detail, personal touch and clear passion for thier work and customers.”

“I asked for a citybreak to Helsinki pretty last minute. Laura Baylis came up trumps. Very efficient and really responsive to my preferences. I really value being able to speak with one person consistently by phone throughout the booking process. All the arrangements worked like clockwork on the trip. “Mark organised a fantastic trip to Iceland. Mark was respectful of my budget, and also gave extremely useful advice on the different trips which were available. I was able to select the trips I wanted to see which was brilliant. I was travelling on my own and Mark suggested Hotel Skuggi which was in a perfect position for the pick ups for the daily trips. In addition it was right near the main shopping streets, the church and the harbour. It was also a really lovely hotel great breakfast with lovely staff. Thanks Mark”

“All of the tours booked for me were amazing. I was surprised to see the lights again after last year's breath taking views but I did and they were even better. I truly didn't think it would get any better but every day was 10/10 🥰 The snowmobiling was out of this world, sitting at the top of a mountain with the sun beaming down made it even more perfect.”

“Svalbard an usual and surreal place The people there are from all over the world and very friendly It is a safe place, but cold and snowy An experience not to be missed We enjoyed staying at the Funken Lodge, which was warm and cozy, the staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble We enjoyed the snowmobile, dog sledding and mine visit, even though the activities were a bit more active than expected, but enjoyable Big thanks to Mark who organised it and made sure everything went to plan”

“It was more than a holiday - an adventure. We flew first to Oslo where we had plenty of time as the connecting flight to Tromsö was delayed. We kept the taxi company informed by text so our driver was able to meet us in the airport at Tromsö and within a few minutes we reached the Clarion Collection Hotel Aurora. The location was ideal, and though the hotel room was average, check in and out were simple. The hotel breakfast offered a good variety and the included light evening meal was actually a self service buffet comprising a generous and filling selection of hot and cold food. We would stay there again. We knew that our northern lights tour booked for the next evening offered little hope of a sighting because of the wet weather at the coast but we decided to go ahead. Our knowledgeable driver Trina took us inland where the cloud was merely haze but the aurora did not oblige. The following night we boarded the Hurtigruten cruise ship to Svolvær. We had a comfortable en suite double bedroom with buffet breakfast and lunch included. Reaching Svolvær in the evening we were taken by taxi to our cabin at Svinoya Rorbuer, consisting of two en suite bedrooms, a kitchen and a sitting room, all well heated. We ate in the restaurant on the first and third nights which was not cheap but the food and service were excellent. At 10pm one of our party noticed the northern lights from the sitting room so we watched outside for almost two hours and were lucky enough to see the lights again on the following evening. On our second day at Svolvær, we went out by RIB (Trollfjord and Sea Eagle Safari) and saw several sea eagles which our driver fed with fish thrown from the boat. We entered a fjord where we saw a hydroelectric power station. On our third day we explored some of the Lofoten islands by minibus with Lofoten Lights. The sky was clear and we had a tour lasting over five hours allowing us to enjoy the dramatic scenery. The early morning passenger journey by fast boat from Svolvær to Bodo was rough for the first hour because of strong wind. Dawn after 8am gave way to a fine sunrise over coastal scenery. We had a wonderful stay in Bodo at the Radisson Blue Hotel and some of us took a rail trip to Fauske and back, enjoying the winter landscape. After a short walk to the airport the next morning (airport, harbour and railway station are all within walking distance of the centre) the first part of the flight from Bodo to Oslo was over snowy mountains. We greatly enjoyed our memorable tour of north Norway. We thank the Baltic Travel Company and Mark for organising a wonderful trip and for being so helpful. It was our second booking with you but won't be the last.”

“We had the most amazing time, thank you for all your help! We did see the Northern Lights and had an amazing spectacle. The lights gave a wonderful performance for a good few hours. The tour guide was perfect, she was so enthusiastic and we got a great picture. The hotel and location was ideal, Tromso is a lovely city and we found everyone very friendly. All the transport plans worked perfectly.”

“We cannot thank Baltic Travel Company and our tour operator Daina for planning and booking a very special Honeymoon in Norway for us! The whole process was stress-free and each part of the itinerary was planned out and catered to exactly what we wanted. Our trip highlights in Norway included a fantastic Northern Lights show, husky sledding, a stay on a beautiful private island and staying in the SnowHotel! “I had a wonderful time. Thankyou for all the helpful links and information. I thought the hotel in Nuuk was lovely, and the staff were so pleasant. The cancellation of the plane to Nuuk was handled very well. The highlight of the holiday for me was seeing the wonderful history of people in Greenland by visiting the museums. I am very interested in different cultures. I thought it was a fantastic place, and I should love to visit again. it would be good to see other parts of the country. I'll have to start saving up for another trip. The ice sheet was splendid too. Excellent tour guides. Thankyou so much for making this lovely trip such a pleasure, Excellent information. “Excellent. I was little surprised at how very good Krakow is as a short- break holiday destination. Nikola managed my holiday's administration and did so very well, thank you. The Baltic countries and other countries in Central and Northern Europe have long held a fascination for me and I have worked and lived in Lithuania. Some might say that this part of the World is very much a niche market as indeed it is but The Baltic Travel Company are in their element here with a good selection of well chosen holiday destinations.”

“We have just returned from a very enjoyable short break in Tallinn and Helsinki arranged by Mark at Baltic Travel. Both cities offer something different to central Europe. Tallinn has an old town area with numerous historical sites to visit, reached along winding narrow cobbled lanes. We also took a guided walking tour that proved to be well worth it, to learn about the constantly changing history of Tallinn. If you are interested in art, a visit to the Kadriorg Park is a must. Within a beautiful park are three art museums, the 18th century Kadriorg Palace that now houses an art collection, the smaller Mikkel and the 21st century Kumu contemporary art museum. The Kumu is one of the best galleries we have visited anywhere in the world. Even if you have limited interest in art, the architecture of the building alone is worth seeing. Helsinki, like Tallinn, has a different feel to many European cities, best seen by walking along the wide avenues and small side streets. The indoor and outdoor markets are worth checking out, both give a good selection of food to try. Along with the historical sites, Helsinki has a lot of art nouveau architecture, well-illustrated by the main central station. The grand entrance to the trains is quite something. We had lunch in the very impressive Olivia station restaurant, good food, reasonable prices and a setting from a bygone era. Mark at Baltic, listened to the type of trip we were looking for and provided the perfect itinerary that precisely met our requirements. We will definitely look to book with Baltic again, for the expertise and personal touch they provide. Chris & Deirdre”

“We had a great trip to Latvia. It's a wonderful country to visit with very friendly people. The guides were uniformly great and through them we got a level of insight into the country and its culture that we couldn't have achieved without them. A few highlights that will live long in the memory - in no particular order: - Trying Latvian Lemons (quince) and grabbing bilberries whilst cycling on single track through virgin pine forest; - Being mildly scolded by the Cesis guide for not allowing enough time for her to show us her city. The pride and passion was great to see; - Watching Great Egrets rising out of the morning mist as we paddled down the Gauja; - Listening to an open air jazz concern whilst sitting on the grass outside the guild hall in Riga; The party rafts on the Gauja - a few plastic barrels and some bits of scrap wood lashed together. The music blaring, the beer flowing as they drifted down the river. I didn't know whether to be appalledor to enjoy the absurdity of it all; -The 1914 - 1922 galleries in the Latvian War Museum. The position Latvia found itself in, in 1918 and the multiple potential outcomes was simply mind-blowing; - Running down an endless empty sandy beach with the Baltic on one side and a pine forest on the other whilst enjoying a pre-breakfast run; - Our musically focussed guide in Siguilda who couldn't resist breaking out into song as the merest opportunity; - The beach volleyball in Jurmala - there were nets everywhere and all ages seemed to play. Watching grandma and her mates giving her strapping teenage grandsons the runaround was hilarious; - Cottage cheese with everything - now established as a staple in our household.”
