“I don’t normally write reviews, but this company is worth it. The Sales and Admin customer service alone worthy of a 5-star excellent. Friendly, helpful and I think with a sense of humor. I am not a wealthy man and like many Brits clothing has taken second Fiddle for those essentials. Over the decades we have all shared the experience. French Connection, remember them. They were good for a while. Recently Fatface I think became a default, but they now have been taken over and the quality and style dipped. I just wanted a good jumper. There is a British Made wool jumper in my bottom draw still immaculate. Kept me warm on Preston Train station in 1985 when desperate to get back to a first love I took a late train and missed the connection. It’s a bit tight now mind. So, the search for a similar jumper began this year. British made British Wool and a bonus, if possible, trad British sizes when a large was a large and not a small. If possible, quality - that it doesn’t look like a bag of rubbish by the second winter. I hadn’t heard of Arthur Beale but I had heard of Shackleton. One of the Great old Empire heroes, that if I am keeping up school teaches the kids to be ashamed of now. Out of my time. AI must have picked up the search, Shackleton appeared with Arthur Beale. Did the research. Emailed them just to be sure the wool and jumpers weren’t in fact made in a ‘’bespoke’’ factory in China and thought OK. The price !!!!!!!!! What ?????? Ok, deep breath, remembering my Preston Station jumper I made the leap of faith. These jumpers are fantastic. They will last and they will be in my bottom draw in 30 years when they are eventually cleaned out following my death some 15 years earlier. Not from pneumonia though, thanks to our Bees honey and the jumper. Spend the money. The large fits the 42-44 chest, the colours fantastic and you know its quality as soon as it arrives. British Wool, British made and outstanding quality. Brought another straight away. I figure I will save money. These jumpers will look good in years to come 5, 10 and beyond. Fatface you get 1 year maybe 2 years with M&S. Unfortunately, as a result of Applepay it got worse. Arthur Beale are the best place for small gifts. The little bags, floating key rings, knot tying gifts etc etc all affordable and fabulous presents. I’ve ended up buying the tool bag also. Small but perfect for dumping household tools. We don’t have a big house and run a 2008 car. Arthur Beale is for all. The hats are great too, caps great quality and the sailor’s hat, no visor, stayed on my head while on top of a Scottish mountain in gale force winds. They way we figure spend on something with a bit of style that will last. One word of warning. The t-shirts maybe made elsewhere. The large is a small. I haven’t brought any of the thermal stuff which maybe is for wealthier customers. BUT you get what you pay for. This is a good company, the products brilliant and quality. By the way, you know what, they sell secondhand jumpers from their product line if you are feeling the financial pinch. If it doesn’t fit the after sales has been second to none. We had to change the t-shirts. Curse of applepay I have spent too much but don’t regret. This stuff looks good, feels good and is quality. I’ve asked about a proper Gilet for us land based folks. Maybe jumper wool lined proper pockets that are placed thoughtfully and useful (glasses) with a nice canvas front. They have said one is in the pipeline. Can I resist. Hey, the site is worth a visit in any case just for the gift ideas, not just in the gifts drop down but all over and mostly affordable. I also ended up buying the blue canvas smock. They promote as an artists or yacht person’s smock. Pretty bourgeois. I kind of lean more towards Chairman Mao so shall have to pretend I brought it from a disgruntled retired Herring Fisherman living in a beached boat at Gibraltar point near Skegness.”

“I discovered this firm on an Instagram post and had a closer look. I now have a Beernber, Fishermans, Gurnsey and a Zip neck They are lovely and I have to stop getting them. Fantastic quality and the service is excellent. Well worth supporting. Its almost disappointing the weather is improving but they are great for warding off the early morning chill and unlike other layers you dont over cook so they are perfect. Well worth the price.”
