This item is NOT windproof & was returned (from Canada) at rather great expense for refund. It was well-made but could not be worn by itself in cold weather with even a light breeze, it would need a windproof layer over it as the knit is not tight enough. Very disappointing. But the description does tout its breathable feature so I should've been less optimistic. Have been able to find two other sweater makers in the UK that say their sweaters are windproof & that they use a very tight knit. These garments were in fact designed to be worn by working fishermen & mariners, wearing an outer layer only to keep the sweater clean. One of those will be purchased; in my opinion therefore, this Arthur Beale item rates two stars.

Having read reviews I decided to order from Arthur Beale 1 tshirt and 2 polo shirts The size of the polo shirts was so small and didn't fit at all I wanted to order a submariner jumper as they look amazing but after the size issue I will not order again

Well. What can I say? I guess this is a case of ‘buyer beware’, when purchasing clothes, on-line. So, the outside of the coat looks great and feels very waterproof. So, first impressions were good. But then I unzipped the jacket and saw the inside. To begin with, I thought that the company had forgotten to add the lining to the jacket. I was expecting a comfortable fleece-like inner lining. Instead, I was greeted by a sandpaper like inside. Extremely uncomfortable to wear. In fact, I am thinking about whether to return this jacket? The inside is utterly awful. It’s such a shame, because this could have been a really great jacket, if a little more effort had been made to make the inner lining, more comfortable.

Wore my gloves for the first time at work... By the end of the day the black coating had started to peel... Not sure either if they are as waterproof as advertised. I work with alloy wheels sanding and water blasting.

Hi there, the order confirmation you received when you placed your order contains a downloadable VAT invoice. This is true for every customer. I can understand that you may have missed this in the email and can see you contacted us on Sunday 19th March for a VAT invoice, unfortunately we are closed on Sundays, however Grace replied to you promptly on Monday 20th March with the requested VAT invoice. I hope this resolved your issue.

I have a number of high quality jumpers which still look like new after many years. But your jumper has a problem I never experienced with the others: after resting the elbows on surfaces, threads are getting pulled loose. This jumper was costly, and so far I am definitely disappointed. John Sigel

i loved it when I got it BUT after just one season, the collar has come unstitched and when I wrote to Arthur Beale along with photos, a couple months ago, there has been no acknowledgment/ reply to my message..It's now middle of winter in Canada and i've had to sideline the Arthur Beale and revert to my ancient Peter Storm

Delivery was fine. Ordering was fine - but the quality of the shoes is absolutely rubbish. The inner soles are ripping up and now they’re uncomfortable to wear. They have only had day to day use too.

The items I purchased were overpriced, for no other reason than they had arthur beale written on them. There is no hike in quality to match the hike in price. The socks look and feel like they came from TK Maxx!. My fault entirely, I shouldn't have let my vanity guide my purchasing needs. I'll stick with decathlon and go-outdoors from now on.
