“Inconsistnent sizing. Had to pay for returns to find the right size and could not rely on measurements on the web site. Not sure how the thumb holes on the sleeves can be described as reinforced - just knitted holes. The product is generally good, but won't be buying again.”

“Nice quality scarf but rather too skinny for my liking so I returned it. Would be great if AB made these wider thereby matching the more rugged nature of their fantastic sweaters (of which I'm a big fan)!!”

“Purchased a woolen beanie hat. Which was well made and good quality, although being woolen makes my head itch even though reveiws saying to the contrary. Purchased also a mens polo shirt in XXL most other makes fit me well although this Arthur Beale was very clingy and sleeves very short and the quality was not reflective of the price.”

“The mittens recently purchased are ok but far too expensive and significantly better are availabble for less. however my main complaint is that with AB now closing the wonderful London shop you are now no better than any other online trader, pity.”

“I wanted a map of the shipping forecast and this fits the bill. The graphics are interesting, I can see a lot of thought has gone into the design but unfortunately the cotton material is very stiff to use as a tea towel. I have just washed it to relax it a bit but it hasn't really worked and not easy to iron because of the resistance of the material.”

“I am going on extended trip & wanted a durable jumper. Sadly on receiving item although quality is good some of the simple durable features are now discontinued. Very disappointing.”

“Mixed report really. Ordered some sheet rope but the wrong rope was delivered. Arthur Beale organised the correct rope and sent it quickly with no delivery charge, good service but that too wasn't correct. They organised a return and refund very quickly, once again a good service. Had to deal with another company in the end. I like Arthur Beale products and service. Shame it didn't work well this time”

“On returning my Beerenberg pullover (it was much too tight) I was extremely unhappy to discover that Arthur Beale, in contrast to other companies from whom I purchase, does not provide a free returns label. The high postage cost has ensured that I shall not be purchasing clothing from Arthur Beale in future as - understandably - I would not want to risk a repeat of such a waste of money and especially as I was given the impression on the telephone that having to return an item was no problem (not for Arthur Beale, obviously). From the number of 'Sold Out' items on your website Arthur Beale appears to be doing very well and I consider it ungenerous of the company to begrudge a free returns label. Your refund to me of the postage cost would be appreciated.”
