“Our old loft hatch fell down, splitting where the hinges were. Searching for a new one we found Jupiter Blue and the ability to get a made to measure insulated hatch, no brainer. Easy to fit, looks great. Only downside, as now easier to get in the loft, it has to be cleared of 34 years of tat collected.”

“Too early to say how effective this loft access is at reducing our heating bills, as it takes a month or so for the seals to adapt. Installation was not as easy as I'd hoped... the pre-drilled screw holes were too near the corners (presumably to help keep the installation as square as possible. However, the screws at the opening-end were exactly where the noggin nails were located and the hinge-end were where the joist staple-patch (not sure what the technical term is) was. This required drilling with a metal drill bit to enlarge the hole for the wood-screw. When closing the hatch for the fist time, it was a bit too tight, and being short on time - I forced the hatch shut. The next day I could not open the hatch and there is no handle to pull the hatch cover down. I eventually managed to release the door and tightened the two nearest screws a bit more. Success! The installation could be made easier if temporary clamps / steel strips were included to help hold the hatch assembly in place whilst drilling / screwing.”
