“I’ve been using this cleanser for years and had positive experience. But since ordering the last batch in a tube, my skin seems to have gotten worse. More congested than if I don’t use it all, so I swapped for a different cleanser and it has improved. I’m not sure what’s going on there, if something changed in my own skin or if the formula has been tweaked a bit but sadly this no longer works for me.”

The formula itself hasn’t changed, but the packaging was updated last year to a recyclable tube, which may alter how the product is dispensed or how much is used at a time. Sometimes even small changes in routine or skin condition can affect how exfoliating products behave, especially if your skin has become more sensitive or dry. It may help to reduce the frequency of use or try applying a smaller amount to see if that improves tolerance; however, we completely understand your decision to switch for now. “I really love all of Facetheory products, they last a long time and it really leaves my face glowing. Especially this cleanser. I use once a week just to keep my oily skin at bay and a the vitamin C cleanser between which is a great combination for me. However only a 4 star due to the packaging! I really wish they would listen to consumers as the majority would say they hate the new packaging. I gave it the benefit of the doubt but the metal packaging makes it more difficult to get all the product out. It leaves residue on the lid that if not wiped regularly it goes green from the metal which can't be great for the skin. They have recently moved some products over to the plastic lids but considering my primary reason for using facetheory was because they didn't use any plastic makes it extremely annoying for me as a consumer. Please change this or make an alternative, even if the glass is more expensive I would imagine most consumers would rather buy the glass bottles and pay extra Thanks”

“I love the cleanser for keeping my skin clear and fresh and have used for years but honestly I hate the new packaging and have stopped buying it. It's hard to get the right amount out, you definitely don't get to finish all the product, and if it folds over you get little holes and the product leaks. I would buy and recommend instantly in different packaging but it's too impractical in the tube for me to use.”

“I really love this cleanser. It almost single handedly cleared my skin! I've been using it since 2019. I really appreciate the brand's commitment to simple effective formulas and having scented/unscented options. I also appreciate their eco-friendly initiatives without compromising the quality of the product - which is easier said than done in skincare. This new tube format though... it's really unpractical. Sometimes there's too much product coming out (because of built up pressure or a mishanlde) - which is a waste. It's also really hard to know if I've used it all up or if there's still some creamy treasure in there - which is also a waste... Because of the shape and material sometimes the tube falls over as it can't balance - which is just mildly annoying. With the glass jars I didn't have any of these issues - and it made for a cute plant starter pot! I understand aluminium is infinitely recycable and cheaper to produce & transport than glass but this is not an optimal design by any means. An aluminium tin would work better (some good labeling and embossing design can elevate the experience - which may align more with the brand). It may also be interesting to work on a refill system (maybe via official retailers?).”
