“We were disappointed that we did not get the cocktails as included in the voucher. There was no tea or coffee facilities in the room or TV. The meals & breakfast were exceptionally basic & relied on you having to pay extra for supplements to make a decent meal. The hotel was interesting but we were not happy by the 11pm curfew, which not only related to being in the hotel but we also had to leave the sitting areas. Overall a different experience but we felt the voucher was misleading & we would not recommend this to others. A shame, as it was a gift to my husband as we celebrated 40 years that weekend since we started dating !”

“We read lots of reviews before our stay and some were not so good. We found the hotel delightful and the art work interesting . The food was lovely and so were all the staff we came into contact with. There were surcharges on sides and yes the drinks were pricey but we expected that. We would definitely go again it was wonderful”

“We were absolutely blown away , what a fabulous beautiful building full of quirky antique art and furniture . Our bedroom was filled with beautiful antique furniture the bed was so comfortable .The restaurant informal and relaxed and beautifully designed. The food on the TDH menu was extremely well cooked and well presented the side dishes are extra but well worth it ,breakfast was freshly cooked and the eggs were to die for . The staff were attentive and couldn’t be more helpful when we encountered a problem with the our booking through a third party and quickly offered a solution. We will definitely be returning soon but next time will book direct with hotel”

“Highly DON'T recommend. Rude waiters, don't honour the cocktails that you've already paid for! No heating in the rooms, hallway stunk of gas & pretty much everything is extra. Glass of orange juice is £5 at breakfast. If you want a full English that's £7.50! Save your pennies and stay in a Premier Inn: you'll have a lovely heated room & eat as much as you want at breakfast.”

“The food was really good, drinks were rediculously expensive, got the impression the waiter didn't want to do that, couldn't crack a smile, Room in the tree tops was so cold, could't get the thermostat to turn it up, reception was closed so didn't think it was enough of an emergency to call that number. Lucky as I have mobility issues so we had my electric blanket! The lift was out of order so had to craw up stairs to our room. Sad Birthday treat!”
