“This is in no way a replacement for your Lapsang, which I have been drinking for many years. PLEASE can you ensure that your traditional brew is made available again ASAP, if not via supermarkets, via the Internet - I would happily buy in bulk.
I really miss my daily brew.”
“Sadly this "Distinctively Smoky" version is no substitute for the original Lapsang which I have been drinking for many years. I will not be buying again and am very disappointed that Twinings think they can get away with selling such an inferior product.”
“Shocking imitation for the real thing, my husband has always drunk this tea which was easily available from some supermarkets and on line, I bought more recently not realising it was not Lapsang Shuchong tea. It tastes awful, now have several boxes which are wasted as it is really unpalatable and unpleasant. WHY CHANGE IT! Please bring it back.”
“After a number of years drinking Twinings Lapsang, I found this new tea an incredibly disappointing drinking experience. The taste is strange, almost chemical in nature. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the smokiness is produced artificially, coming from a bottle, instead of from actual fire produced smoke. I've bought one box, 90% of which ended up thrown away, and certainly won't be buying more. I'm afraid Twinings have tarnished their reputation for quality with this tea.”
“New Distintively Smoky tea (replacement of Lapsang Souchong)
How on earth Twinings thought this ‘smoke flavoured tea’ was ok to release on the unsuspecting public is beyond me. It has a chemical, acrid aftertaste which the word ‘disgusting’ doesn’t adequately describe. It needs to be hastily recalled before everyone realises that Twinings have lost their tastebuds.”
