“This is vile and just tastes of cheap smoke “flavour””

“Just bring back the original Lapsang, this is a horrendous alternative.”

“I'm really surprised Twinings have made this decision. I prefer lapsang and will happily pay more for it elsewhere.”

“I have been buying lapsang for years, and this last box tastes like diluted pond water! Absolutely awful!”

“Lapsang Souchong fills the room with an absolutely beautiful aroma and tastes similarly delicate and wonderful. It was the tea that persuaded me to stop putting milk in my tea and just enjoy the flavour and Twinings has long been my prefered brand. Lapsang fills me with joy and evokes far off places I'd love to visit. This new 'Distinctly Smoky' blend smells and tastes a bit like engine oil - with an artificial and contrived 'smoky' flavour overlaid on a bog standard tea base. The aftertaste is like bile. I'm can't stand it. Please end this terrible experiment and bring back Lapsang Souchong.”

“This is so disappointing… tastes nothing like the original Lapsang Souchong tea; I’ll just have to find another brand.”

“I am sorry but this is awful. A really horrible back taste, watery and personality free. It is smokey in a way that bonfires are 1 day after a rainstorm. - stale and chemical smelling. To stop producing proper lapsang and replace it with this is a travesty. What were you thinking? Did you set up a focus group or do this by committee? I am so sorry but this is awful. I once did a live tea testing with Sam Twining on the radio, he was a delight. I think he would be disappointed by this horror.”

“Twinings - what have you done? This is disgusting -after one drink, chucked the whole lot in the bin. I've loved the Lapsang since about 1970 when I had flu and it was the only thing I could taste & enjoy.”
