“Sorry, but it is horrible. Crude burnt-chemical aftertaste somehow bolted on to a lacklustre substrate of weak tea. I even tried adding milk, in case it was intended for milky tea drinkers and it was even more horrible. Much worse even than the cheapo “china tea” I once bought from Waitrose. This is a very long way from the kind of lapsang you have been selling previously — I very much hope this foul novelty beverage does not mean you have stopped selling proper lapsang. If it does, may I suggest you reconsider.”
“Oh come on Twinings have some respect for your customers! Your replacement for Lapsang Souchong bears no similarity to the original. You fooled us with the labelling but that’s as far as it went, one sip and the rest went down the drain. So very disappointed in a once proud company marketing huh!”
“This new blend is disgusting. its acrid, bitter and very unpleasant How can such a company as Twinings get it SO wrong? After 4 tea-bags, I actually binned the rest. I have been drinking Lapsang for over 30 yeras, and Twinings was my 'go to' brand, as the blend was spot on and the price and availability was on point...... but I'm afraid that I'm off to try and find a replacement product. Twinings are either thick skinned and don't care of very embarrassed that they now have a complete flop on their hands (and probably a Warehouse of the stuff).”

“Picked up two packets of this in Sainsburys without reading the label thinking it was Lapsang Souchong because of the box design which has not changed. It's disgusting. Foul aftertaste which is reminiscent of bad water. I don't think I kept the receipt so I can't take the unopened one back. Very disappointed as, it seems, is everyone else who's bought it.”
