“It's shocking this tea got through any kind of quality control, its incredibly disappointing compared to the previous version. Fair enough having trouble with importing the required stock, but you guys need to start from scratch with this one and have another crack at it. Hope you can smash it if you do have another attempt to recreate it!”
“I compared this tea to actual Lapsang Souchong today and I could barely taste the flavour despite a brewing it for over 3 minutes. Clearly a profit making change, as the loss in quality is such that I won’t be buying it.”
“Twinings messed about with the Lapsang a few years ago, and re marketed a diluted product in silly little bags in a smaller quantity. They then reinstated the 50 bag boxes, but it was presumably the same poorer quality tea, in bigger boxes. It was never the same. Now this comes along, which tastes like cheap black tea with a fag end in it. What I wouldn’t give for a cup of the Lapsang I was drinking fifteen years ago.”
“I'd give this zero if I could. It's distinctively disgusting. Nothing like Lapsang Souchong, and it is so sneaky and underhanded of Twinings to put this in packaging so similar. Like we wouldn't notice the difference when it's such an inferior tea!”
