“The 'Distinctly Smoky' tea is ,sadly, not a patch on the old Lapsang Souchong tea bags. They're weaker in flavour, and I won't be buying them again. The only good thing I can say about them is that because they haven't got as much flavour, they're more refreshing than the original LS product. But taste wise these aren't up to Twinings usual standards.”
“Along with all the other reviewers here it seems, I have come to express my utter disappointment at finding this awful tea in place of my beloved Twinings Lapsang Souchong. I had been drinking Twinings Lapsang for 20 years, and would get through 2 x boxes a month. My Father and sister also both drink it get through a similar amount. We are lost without it! Distinctively Smoky simply does not cut it, and takes more like cardboard than Lapsang. Please, Twinings, bring back our favourite tea.”
“Absolutely awful.
Tastes nothing like Lapsang. More like something old and musty.
Bought a box of 40, 39 went in the recycling.
Twinings have lost a customer unless proper Lapsang returns.”
“The reformulating of this tea is awful, it actually tastes like smoked fish, like a kipper. Interesting that someone else mentioned seaside, like old burned fishing rope, very bad. Why on earth have you done this?”
“Not at all nice. Reminiscent of an old bonfire or damp ash. Not at all like Lapsang. Alas after 40 years I shall have to search elsewhere for my favourite tea.”
