“Over the past few years I have become obsessed with Twinnings, especially the superblends. I used to hate tea and only drank coffee but Twinnings converted me. Now, I make sure to pick up any Twinnings teas I haven't tried before as I've always been impressed with the quality!
So I found this one reduced ( should have been a red flag!) and I'm sorry I have nothing good to say about it. It was like someone tipped an ashtray into my mouth!
Perhaps it's an acquired taste I've still to get, or maybe it's because I haven't tried lapsing yet but yeah, never again!

“Lapsang Souchong has been my daily go to tea for well over a year now. I tried "Distinctively Smoky" as Lapsang Souchong is discontinued. The flavour profile is nowhere near the same and frankly an awful attempt at replication in comparison.
I read online about the reason for change being due to sourcing/costing of ingredients which I can somewhat understand but Distinctively Smoky is not to the standard I have come to expect from Twinings.
I'm more upset than I should be to be losing my daily tea :(”
“Disgusting is the only word to use for this tea. It tastes of the bbq where you started to cook before the firefighters were out .A chemical/ paraffin taste . Unpleasant waste of money, should be taken off the market .Lapsang lover”

Your Lapsang Souchong was a pleasure to drink and I has been a favourite for years.
To market this pretender in the same packaging purporting to bdd we something it isn’t, sadly this tea does not hit the mark it is disgusting and not reminiscent of Lapsang.
If this is what your experts came up with, you would be best to return to the original even if the cost is increased as this attempt is a poor quality off taste Charlatan that I will not waste money on again #destinedforthebin”
