“I'm gutted that Twinings have swapped Lapsang Souchong tea for this vile substitute. It's not 'Distinctively Smoky', it's decidedly nasty. It smells of diesel and leaves a horrible chemical aftertaste. I've always drunk Lapsang tea and will definitely not be buying Twinings again. Taylors make a nice one and I'll be drinking that instead.”
“What the Hell is this?? If I wanted boiled bleach I would reach under the kitchen sink. Twinings, how on Earth have you allowed this to go on sale? The most disappointing £2.50 I've ever spent and the very worst pot of tea I've ever
brewed. I don't care if you have to charge an RRP of £10 on a box, bring back the proper Lapsang Souchong and salvage your own dented reputation. If you're prepared to cut corners like this it does not bode well for your other ranges and I'll be thinking twice before buying Twinings from now on.”
“Can’t believe the taste of this. Leaves a really bad aftertaste and nothing like I thought it would be. Not sure the dog will like the rest of the bags. Went looking for Dark Grey and came back with this.”
“This is distinctively different in the most unpleasant way. It is nothing like the original Lapsang Suchong but I was fooled by the colour of the pack when I went to replace my stock in Sainsbury’s. The tea is weak and the aftertaste is horrible. I shall now source elsewhere and am about to try the Waitrose Lapsang.”
“Having seen some of the negative reviews, I feared the worst but was delighted by what I found. This tea is amazingly smokey and very enjoyable late at night. Akin to having a cigar, this tea is great when listening to some mellow jazz music with low lighting. My wife and I love this which has now become our absolute favourite☺️”
