It is the best HAT for the RPI in my opinion. I love the individually changeable RGB LEDs, and they are exceptionally bright if you want them to be. Changing the LEDs with animations can appear to have a low frame rate at first, but there are plenty of tricks to get it up to the point where it looks smooth.

Works well. It might have been better if the star at the top was on the other side.

Absolutely love this tree. I have it running all the time. The code samples were helpful however you did need to install a few more Python modules than was actually mentioned. That could have been a blocker for new coders. Once I got things up and running the sample code was quite helpful. I've since had lots of fun coding different lighting sequence. I think on the hardware side it would be nice if the LEDs would line up nicely horizontally. Because the side blades are not matched up exactly the top LEDs don't line up. It would also be nice if the LEDs were clearly numbered. It would help with programming different sequences easier.

Great value at the offer price! Hours of harmless fun working out how to set up sequences and patterns and then initiate them from my iPad using shortcuts/Siri. If you wanted to give a Pi beginner something that gives a reason to work through some coding logic with a very visible end result this would be it! One tiny design improvement would be to put the LED in the top star on the other side of the circuit board. Why? Because that way the power supply cable to the Pi can come from behind (more convenient) and still have the star visible. But that really is a tiny detail!

Looks amazing! Due to the current issues with the US Postal Service, it took over 3 weeks to arrive, but it was worth the wait! Adds a lot of spirit to a year that needed it
