I now have two of these Xmas trees and they are adorable. Very easy to program with python and the examples provided by The PiHut. If you want to run this Xmas tree from the Balena cloud or if you just want it up and running quickly: https://github.com/connect-cloud/balena-rgbxmastree Please make my whish come true and upgrade the Xmas Star with RGB leds as well :)

I bought the pre-soldered version which was pretty easy to cut out & assemble. I combined all of the examples given into one python script so that it loops through all 4 @ one per 30 sec. Even with my abysmal knowledge of Python it didn't take too long. Tips: Need to run scripts with python3 xxx.py and not python xxx.py, otherwise controlling individual LED's doesn't work... Highly recommended, even got my 14 year old daughter interested in doing some programming...

This is a fantastic device. Thank you guys for having the coffee available on your site, that makes it incredibly easy to get up and running. The pi hut has pulled that rabbit out of the hat again. Speedy delivery is always great

This is amazingly fun!! It does not require soldering (although you can if you want to), and it's really fun to use. Also, the LED's are _really_ bright! Definitely highly recommended.

The tree on a headless Pi Zero needs 140-170mA and will run on any old power bank you might have lying around. It is an amazing fun project for xmas everybody wants to know about. I have the tree running with different programs in the background of my zoom or skype business sessions. People want to know about Raspberry and if that will make a xmas present for their kids (of course!!!).

So much fun! My kids and I really loved using this and were able to customise it and get it to try different things. Great fun
