Brilliant fun. Easy to setup with the command line code initially and then add some custom scripts. I got three, one for each kids room and they had fun learning how to change the code to suit what they wanted. Pop them on a pi zero WH and case and it looks awesome.

Love it. It's a nice little kit to get your first experience with the GPIO ports and HATs. The example code is help but leaves lots of room for you to explore yourself. After tinkering for a couple of weeks I've made a few fun little light sequences that can be found at https://github.com/limsim/rgbxmastree It includes some lessons I learnt and some tips to help explore.

Great Christmas project. This was fun to assemble using the online instructions. The example code is also good, the random sparkles are nice to watch. A very popular addition to our decorations.

Excellent device and really bright. The program examples were useful as I'm not really a Python programmer but managed to cobble together several really annoying sequences, and was very taken with the Hue control and random to create a more relaxing infinitely changing display. Next job add a light sensor to dim display at night...

Would like to see the schematic so I can write my own driver as I have an aversion to python

A thoroughly lovely gadget. To qualify for the 5th star a more comprehensive documentation regarding the hard- and software would be needed. The attitude visible in posts as in https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=260938&p=1593288&hilit=rgbxmastree#p1589724 are the juxtaposition of what I would need. Mind that neither English nor Python are my first languages.

Excellent idea and really fun to program it. It's 4 instead of 5 as it tends to lock the LEDs into either always on in white light or some random colour if used continuously for a number of days.
