“This camera contains quite a good Sony ccd and performs well. The little camera board the ccd sits on seems well made and compact. The lens mounting interface is solid and works well.
Driving the camera is fairly straightforward using the built in Raspian command set, although it does have some small idiosyncrasies, these are more apparent when trying to drive the camera directly when you discover the camera has a built in agc and exposure control that can get in the way. These can be bypassed but it isn't straightforward.”
“I knew that the image quality was much better than the original camera but I didn't expect it to be that good. I use a Pi Zero as webcam with "showmewebcam" and my colleagues can see way more details than they should. :D”
“Really clean camera module. The mounting support works well as does the c and cs lens mounts. Had some trouble picking the right lens, but that's been half the fun.”
