“Great to have fewer wires to deal with and the quality of the board is excellent. This is especially the case with the new transformer which looks miles better than the wound copper one on the first iteration of the PoE hat. The extra power budget is also nice, although I use these without any peripherals plugged into the Pi.
The issue that stopped me awarding five stars is that the fan doesn't work out of the box. I needed to add dtparam=poe_fan_temp... lines to config.txt and then fine tune with vcgencmd measure_temp to strike a balance between noise and heat. The mounting screws at the bottom of the Pi also stop these from fitting into the standard case. Not that you would do that anyway, given that its cooling would not be adequate.
I combined these with an acrylic stand which is technically and aesthetically pleasing.”
“It requires updating the firmware on the pi4 to get the fan to actually spin. This is a little worrying as the docs tell you not to update the firmware because it can brick your device.
Having updated the firmware it works great though. The fan has a massive impact on the CPU temps even without any heat-sink, and I've had no trouble running the Pi over PoE. I have one running a PiHole DNS resolver, and another running Home Assistant. Both are powered by PoE.”
“The Raspberry Pi PoE+ HAT works well after some work with the spacers provided and the fan. The bolts through the fan stop the HAT from seating properly on the Pi and the spacers provided didn't appear to be the correct size for the job at hand. After reversing the fan bolts and locating some spare spacer bolts managed to fit the board successfully. Next issue fan didn't appear to kick in at 65+ degrees. Update to Pi OS and a reboot fixed this, check Google for details

“It works very well, but dropped a star as the fan screw fouls the camera ribbon cable (and broke it) and the fan is rather noisy with limited control, but as a POE hat it is excellent.”
“Love this as it allows me to use my Pi with my PoE switch and don’t have to think about power! Delivers more than enough power for my Pi and it runs perfectly. Only downside is this HAT doesn’t fit in the standard case. Pi Hut always deliver a high standard too!”
“I have tired three different POE Hats for Pi 4B's and Pi 3B's. This is the outstanding one. It has, according to others, a high current draw. I need it to supply 3A and it does. The fan is not that quiet but it is rarely spinning on my devices. My intention is buy at least another 2 of these for a project I am working on.”
