I needed a file server and VPN for my office that would allow my staff to work from home. The 8gb model 4B is more than adequate for a SAMBA configuration with a USB SSD hard disk and a Wireguard VPN with PiHole. It gets quite warm so I put it into a case with a fan. It runs at about 40C and using RaspController Pro on my mobile phone I can monitor it remotely. Raspbian is a stable operating system and straightforward to configure. I had so much fun configuring it that I couldn't bear to part with it, so I bought another one to play with after installing the one for the office.

Lot of fun as a project, went for a Headless install which provided a nice technical challenge which is helping me learn! Currently running as a home server, love it!

I have had a number of Pi's mainly for tinkering and small projects. However my purchase was prompted with the advent of the 64 bit OS and whether I could use this as a desktop replacement. I have to say that it is more than capable for my needs (mainly browser based) I love the versatility of it also, I have a number of SD cards that are easy to swap out to try other OSes. My current favourite is actually ubuntu MATE 20.04, very easy to overclock and use as a daily runner.

Great little device as always, borders on power of a real desktop computer for a tiny fraction of the price! Works well with sound and full screen with my new 24inch monitor, so delighted

Arrived in a nice box, in perfect condition! Raspberry PI 4 tends to produce a lot of heat, so it's a good idea to either add a passive cooling case, or some fans to dissipate the heat.

Item arrived un-damaged with a good delivery time. Three stars due to not being able to use the full 8GB of ram yet, with no explanation until I went 'digging' around for the information. Would have been nice to have some direction to find the info boxed with the pi, a sentence containing a link perhaps. Yes, I know the information can be found, I eventually found it! Again, disappointed by the fact you offer the hardware but not the software to operate the pi 4 8GB at full potential but do charge 'full' price. (Irony) Beta version and 64bit comments I came across unhelpful and confusing especially as a 'Newbie' to pi. Not enough time to go into depth with these issues here. I will continue with the pi experience as I see the potential and have come to far to put it back in its box for a 'rainy day' something to do.

This is my first Raspberry Pi and I am quiet impressed! With use of passive cooling and boot from SSD this beast shoots up like a rocket. No need for energy waisting devices anymore. Build your own system of the size of a cigarette package with a couple add ons. Play around with Raspberry Pi OS, Ubuntu linux and even Windows 10. Thumbs up!
