Under sustained load it suffers from cpu speed throttling. Search the raspberry pi forums and you’ll find multiple people reporting temperature issues.

Hi - I bought a new Pi including official Pi Case. In general everything is slightly better, however, it is very noticeable that my room is a lot warmer than usual because the Pi is so hot! Unfortunately the official Pi case does not contain a heat sink and we now have to wait for other cases to be produced.

The new pi runs great, but hot!! This is not a criticism, as this level of performance was likely to have side effects. Pi hut, please make a fan shim / hat available, my bolt on fan looks horrible!! This will fit in the previous models case with minor modifications.

Got my hands on RPI4, sounds promising. However, I ran into an issue that HDMI wouldn't display, after googling I found out that HDMI cable should be connected to RPI4's primary HDMI port (the one closer to the power port) and it works now. Another issue is that RPI4 heats significantly more than RPI3.

Cannot wait to get my hands on this version 4 release of the Pi and with 4GB RAM! Straight away I'm rigging in to an 3D printed VR head gear chassis I've made, hooking-up some Sony Micro-OLEDs and further more venturing elsewhere and trying fovested rendering of such, XR development and all sorts ;D www.wisecorp.co.uk

Raspberry Pi 4 Model B (4GB) is certainly well worth the extra £20! Although it runs much hotter than any previous RPi revision it's stable and consistant at those temperatures (e.g. the CPU is 60 degrees Celsius just sitting at the command prompt doing nothing, and higher while on X desktop). Thermal throttling does a remarkable job of stopping the device from crashing or failing through over-heating. The RPi 4 is quite a bit quicker than the RPi 3B+ - binary compile times are almost halfed in comparison. Get a new case because RPi 3 cases won't suit RPi 4. ;) Ordered Monday 24 June 2019 @ 09:00am and the RPi 4 was delivered 2 days later at 10:00am by Royal Mail. Oustanding service from thepihut.com and only £2.99 for the pleasure.

Been using mine since yesterday and it works brilliantly. Is now a replacement for my ageing AMD based tower system, it leaves this older box standing. Well done to the them they have done it again. Buy one and don't look back worth every penny, I have the 4GB one so it can multitask well.
