“I have a Pi3B+ and find it a great device. I have just unpacked the Pi4B with 2Gb ram - not powered it up yet but I have absolutely no reason to disbelieve all the reports I have read with respect to its advanced specs and performance. My personal likes: the new USBc universal power socket - no more faffing about getting it the right way round! Micro HDMI ports (two) make for much neater cabling - 4K performance YES! My monitor is 4K and so are two of my laptops. 4K of ram - YES again - these days memory capacity is essential - the more the merrier. It is almost impossible to believe such a physically small package can be a powerhouse and perform as a desktop when the appropriate peripherals are attached – I have a USB3 hub with several 1Tb HDDs & a 512Gb ssd available.”

“Picked one up in Cambridge this morning, and had to re-read the specs again because it looks a lot like a "Raspberry Pi" is supposed to look like, but it packs a massive amount of upgrades in almost identical clothes. Two HDMI ports, Jesus Christ. At first I thought there may be some variations, but it's proper dual-display HDMI power. 4k! I mean... USB C power is a great addition. I'm sure people will find reasons to complain about it, but I for one definitely welcome USB C and already upgraded a lot of things and cables to it. So that worked even without the power supply. Didn't work with the Apple USB C Macbook cable, not sure why. But worked with another one immediately. Bluetooth mouse setup is a bit shaky, not sure if there's going to be software updates needed or my mouse just acting up. Other than that, very impressive device and I can't wait to see what people do with it.”
