“I bought one of these to stream free view channels to my iOS devices, and assembled it with a pi zero W according to to the excellent tutorial.
It worked perfectly with minimal effort. (See! Linux tutorials can be written in an understandable way)
Having fitted it in a small ABS Hammond enclosure and taped it to the aerial point (you could fit the whole thing inside a std aerial access box) it has worked perfectly since then, only requiring a restart after a router reboot.
I would throughly recommend the set up. (Hat, leaf, feather, banana, shield - I’ve lost track). The TV headend software works well with iOS, the Win10 app is a bit ropey, but then so is Win 10.
I’ve tried to insert a photo but I seem unable to in this site.”
“Absolutely superb addition to our home media center. Records TV to NAS for viewing later. Had to ditch OpenElec for LibreElec to use but so far so good!”
“I received my TV-Hat the day after ordering, which was fantastic. It was well packaged so as to avoid any in transit damage. Apon opening, the build quality looks good, and everything was as specified. It was quick to set up and get in use, tha available guides documenting well how to set up the device. Initial viewing was worrying as I used the TVHead end web viewer and the video was slow and choppy and out of sync with the audio. These issues disappeared once I used VLC. The device is now happily acting as a DVR.
As there is only a single TV tuner in the device it is less useful as a TV streaming / DVR than I initially anticipated as you can only view one stream. This should be highlighted as I had visions of using the device to stream video around the house (probably a bit optimistic).
This should be highlighted in the device blurb to better set buyers' expectations.”
“What can I say about a product that does exactly what it says it should?
As a basic tv streaming card this is brilliant, however for streaming via Plex I do recommend using a powerful board.”
