“The kit is easy to use, even though you have to hammer a bit harder than you expect. Used it both for the female and male headers (had two pi zero's at hand). The screws could be a bit less tight to make it easier to slide the plastic mounts. I had some trouble uncoupling the pi from the mount after hammering, it got stuck to the bottom layers. Had to unscrew the screws all the way out so that i could yank it a bit. The female header is the easyer to mount. Unfortunately after mounting the male header the little plastic support that you hammer on broke in halve. Fortunately I was finishing the second header and was able to complete the process. If the part was a bit thicker i believe it would last longer. Overall its a great tool for helping to mount the solderless headers.”
“I was about to buy a soldering iron when I got my Raspberry Pi Zero W. Then I discovered this GPIO Hammer Header. It was really easy to install following the guide and with the installation jig. Even if I have used a soldering iron in the past, this was much faster for me. I really recommend it.”
“Had problems with the male header. Even with the rig, the hammer is impacting the pins through the plastic. Which made the pins a bit crooked.
Worked fine with female header.”
“the solderless gpio hammer headers ar great. especially for someone who can't solder. just a word of warning - if all you have is a claw hammer, be very very light with it. I will have to buy this again and use a ballpeen hammer next time.”
