“I'm new to pi, I wanted to create a candle flicker for a pumpkin so I ordered a Blinkt just incase I couldn't manage to get component parts to work together. Turns out I could. So now I have the challenge of what do do with the Blinkt.
Well that's easy, I'll create a spookily blue lit pumpkin that rather than flickers crashes like lightening.
This is a thing I'd never have considered without a Blinkt. It makes experimenting so easy for a noob.
It's well assembled and comes with a raft of python example, examples are what noobs really need so they can pick them apart and tweak them.”
“Light bar is very nice works like I expected it too . It had lots of different light patterns and colors . I bought it for my raspberry pi zero W and I turned it into a retro pie . It's fun playing games with the lights on and flashing .”
“Being used as a status/heath indicator/activity monitor on headless Pis running web services. Information displayed by small Python programme.
Only drawback is that you can't detect if a Blinkt! is physically plugged in ... but check out the 10k resistor between +3.3V and GPIO4 in the pimoroni website (gadgetoid)”
