Argon 40 M.2 case for the raspberry Pi 4, this is my third Argon case and the best so far. Fitting the Raspberry Pi into the case is relatively easy. The M.2 SSD range is quite extensive and I needed to read up on them however, I used a WD Green M.2 2280 SSD 240gb and this works a treat plus I haven’t seen the low power lighting bolt either. Once the SSD is flashed the SD card can be removed and yes you don’t have access to the SD and SSD cards once the case is secured, that said you’re not going to need it and you can always use a USB SD card reader. The fan on this model is noticeably quieter than on the other models I own. The Pi under my normal use runs at about 45 Deg C and if I’m watching a YouTube video 50 Deg C seems to be about average. With the default for the fan set to 55 Deg C I don’t expect to hear the fan too often but nice to know it’s there. This Argon case has addressed those wants for the Raspberry Pi, a power button all the sockets at the back full sized HDMI sockets along with the improved reliability, capacity and speed that M.2 SSD has to offer. Access to the GPIO’s is via a cover that is held in place with magnets the pin molding is colour coded for ease of identification. There is an IR receiver built into the case but no remote controller is available yet, it would have been nice to have been some example code to utilise this. Being an obsessive owner of Raspberry Pi’s this is my go to case and would recommend it.

When you thought the Argon. One was perfect they add M.2 capability which starts to make the Pi a viable PC.

Best case I have ever bought and I've had a few. I can finally experience overclocking. It keeps the Pi at around 60c during overclocking, which is brilliant. The m.2 is wonderful, I finally have a use for my m.2 drives, boot time is incredible. It's heavy enough to stay where I put it, with almost all the ports used and no sliding when a cable decides gravity is more important than my choices. I am also impressed by the fan's top vent, the cover for the GPIO is also the vent. So it vents even when the cover is on. So cool. I am very tempted to buy another, lovely case.

A really well built, beautiful case. M.2 support with the Pi (4b) booting from USB makes this a capable as well as beautiful desktop device.

Excellent, solid case with a power button and SSD. I wish it had 1. PoE support 2. All plastic construction so Bluetooth chip had greater range. 3. NVME support. But it is the best case available right now!

I'd would have liked to give this case five stars - however the current (outdated) ASMedia firmware used doesn't support TRIM (even though my M.2 SSD supports it) and (according to Argon 40 support) you'll will have to find, download and flash a newer firmware (141126_A1_EE_82). This, as far as I as I have been able to find out can only be done using a Windows 10 PC, which causes another problem as I don't own any Windows devices at home (pure Linux household) and I'll have to wait until I'm able to go back to work next week to try and flash the newer firmware. Apart from this issue it's a great little case that means you don't have to use an external USB to SATA cable, but it would have been better if the firmware used had been updated before hand.
