“Revisiting micro:bit after several years has shown me a significant improvement in the device itself and the support given to the user base. At first, I was frustrated by not being able to load my original (2015) block code programs into the makecode editor, but after a lot of searching on the web, I was able to find a link to the original editor, at https://makecode.microbit.org/v0, which still worked for me. Hex files exported from that editor then loaded into the latest version. I do like the built-in speaker, microphone and extended code blocks now available for the v2.2 version.”
