“Amazing piece of kit for the money - easy to use online coding software enables quick programming to perform a wide range of tasks, including control of motors and servos, and using sensors. Brilliant!”
“It may be small, but it is mighty! An amazingly capable little machine that is easy to programme either via computer or using the mobile phone app with MakeCode. Just scratching the surface after a couple of weeks of exploring!”
“Great bit of kit to get the children into computers and coding! Cheap, packed with sensors and with an easy-to-use block coding interface (very much like scratch), it hits the spot for anyone wanting to get into coding or electronics.”
“Straightforward , relatively simple device with lots of sensors and lots of opportunities means my (autistic( son loves it.. Also the microbit approach of providing three languages (scratch like, python and javascript) is awesome.”
“I am a bit late in discovering these remarkable devices. With the Microsoft Makebit development environment, I had my own code running on the micro:bit less than 30 minutes after it arrived. The key to that was the built-in simulator, which highlights any unexpected or unintentional code behaviour immediately, meaning that debugging becomes straitforward. Ideal for people of any age with or without previous coding experience, and also gives an immediate path into Python coding. OK, so the on-board ARM device has a 600+ page datasheet, but there is no need at all to refer to that, I was just curious about just how incredible capable the processor SoC was. Astonishing value for money.”
“Awesome device, and super impressive web-based software. No fuss to code with, no fuss to upgrade firmware, plus the selection of addon, plugins etc. is fantastic.”
