“This little device was a godsend when I found that my new Macbook Air did not have an i.r. reciever to pair with my apple remote for presentations. It worked straight out of the box but took a while customise up as I had to search online for intructions for volume control etc settings. Very pleased. Another great Pi-Hut product.”
“Works very well with most remotes
Unfortunately, could not get it work with buttons that have multiple functions
e.g. when the buttons for [up], [down], [left], [right] and [OK] are on the same rocking type switch...(Talk Talk remote)
However, these commands can be programmed with remotes that have separate buttons for each of the commands
Not quite as intuitive as you may think
We do use it, but not for the specific remote that we bought it for
So, could be better, needs more thought and development
Perhaps it may not be possible to use rocking type switches with the Flirc technology due to the switches limitations
Or, I am missing something...”
“Needed something to control my partner's parents Pi. They are of an age where technology is not always the best solution.
This was easy to programme, except in Ubuntu where it didn't recognise it at all, and have me the basic keys I needed for them to control their media centre.
Clever idea executed well”
