Only made a small purchase from Pi-Hut but i found the communication from them perfect. They updated me on all key events. I was a little concerned about the shipping times but after consulting the FAQs, all was fine. Product was much better value that "other" websites. I will buy from them again for sure.

Most of the systems I have at home are Ubuntu Desktop and I had lots of problems setting the Flirc USB up, until I used Windows Pro 11 - I have a VM I keep handy. The set up was easy then and I got little thing to do exactly what I was after which was allow me to remote control a smallNUC box running an IPTV app. Smooth as butter - I plan to get another 2 or 3 when I can for a few other projects.

Using this with a Chromecast and a One For All remote that's been configured as a remote for the Nvidia shield. Work's absolutely perfectly and the remote allows me to control my Chromecast, TV and AV Receiver all on the one device. I didn't realise that the FLIRC had to be plugged into a PC/Mac and needed to be configured first, but once I'd worked past my own mistakes then this was really easy to get up and running.

Want to use one of those old remotes you've got stashed in the drawer? This is the thing to do it! It translates random remote codes to keyboard presses, so if you can do it with a keyboard, you can do most things with this and an IR remote. It is IR though which means LOS is needed and absolutely needs plugging into a PC wo config *before* you plug it into whatever random box you're going to use.

Great for use with Home Assistant. Setup was painless and I now have the flexibility of a whole bunch of spare IR remotes to control any smart home device or automation I choose.
